I hate the term pro comper. I enter a lot of competitions because I have free time. I might as well be productive with my time at home. It is not my profession though?!
I have sold items as I need the money and not ashamed to admit it.0 -
I don't see a problem with selling items. I tend to only enter competitions for things I want or need. But with twitter competitions I do sometimes enter competitions I normally wouldn't have because they are so easy to do, so have ended up selling a couple of things I have won.
You don't know peoples circumstances as to why they enter or sell their prizes so we really shouldn't judge. Focus more on entering comps than having rants!0 -
i couldnt give a fig what people do with their prizes i enter alot of high value ones and if i manage to win say a car but its manual and i cant drive it i'll be selling it onWhat goes around-comes around0

I won a man City top and sold it on EBay (sorry MaineBlue). I specified that I had won it and the bidders didn't mind and it went for £200. The money is now sat in the bank and going towards next years holiday.
Yes it might be a tad annoying when someone sells something that you could really do with, but they won it fair and square and had just as much chance as everyone else, so surely they can do with it what they want.0 -
I don't think it's ANY ONES business what anyone does with their wins, if they keep it, give it, throw it or sell it. YOU'VE won it you do whatever you want with it

I surely tend on doing so.
Started 2011
Lost count but from 2019- £750
2020- perfume, GIN, bag - approx 300£
2021- 150 voucher,
2022- book
2023- £1000 -
I don't know if i'd sell a tv or anything but i've won dresses in the past that haven't fit when they've arrived. So i don't think thats so bad because if it fit i would have wore it.:j:j:j0

I tend to only enter for prizes I can use or I know I can pass on to loved ones.
However, I've just had a pretty big win in a comp where I wanted the second prize... Would it be wrong of me to sell it so someone gets what they'd love at a bargain price and I spend the money on something we actually like and want? Not IMHO
.
I also had a win of an expensive package where I'd entered as I was after just part and didn't realise what was included. I did sell on the 2 parts I felt would be a wild extravagance for me to keep. The people buying were delighted with their bargains .
Have given away many, many prizes to loved ones, (And even people I've never met in RL, just on FB etc,) my choice.
Also tickets to events where circumstances have changed.
I've also donated prizes to charity, but no-one seems to criticise that ...:pWorse things will have happened in the world today..."The only thing that really matters, it to love and to be loved."0 -

It's £1,099 from Sony, I have seen it elsewhere for £1,200+ and also for just under a £1,0000 -
I have sold a couple of things on too. I enter comps for stuff I want, think someone else would like (gift) or something that I will get some money from. We all put the same amount of time and effort in to entering them....
I won a lovely dkny handbag but I know I wouldn't use it, so that money went on something for my then-to-be baby.
I still get super excited when I win anything though. Even if I don't want it. Gives me a little buzz and I end up with a smile on my face for a week! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I normally enter just for things I want/need but can't afford, but omg seeing how much they are raking it in maybe I'd do the same if I won those high value things!
They must be spending a lot of time entering given how much they've sold this year, not sure I'd have that amount of patience.
I'll stop being nosey now, need to enter a few I think
