Virgin media are STILL stealing from me.

 And won't listen.
Every month since september they are meant to take £20 for 2 services from them - every month they take anywhere from £38 to £79 from me. They haven't been sending me my bills either so I don't always know what they've taken.
I've had it with them, they are in effect stealing between £20 and £60 off me every month. I've just realised, it's not that I'm bad with money, it's that they won't stop taking what's rightfully mine!
I'm close to cancelling my direct debit today and screaming at them down the phone - 8 months now they've been doing this, they are useless when I call - they've hung up on me, told me I'm wrong or a liar. I should've paid £160 - I estimate they have around £450 of my money.
They are not keeping it, I'm going to find a way to get it back, even if I have to go to their offices and drive them insane for weeks on end!
Can you tell I'm stressed?

Hello ~*Plushroom*~
Have you been to your card issuer to advise them that Virgin Media are taking more money than they are supposed to? That you have tried contacting the company and they are not replying to letters or phone calls?
Your card issuer may be able to help? Either a Chargeback or some useful advice?

I can't even remember how many times I contacted VM over this, they just seem to think if they give me the run around I'll let them keep the money! Mad eh. I'll have a look on my banks website and see if that says anything about it, I've also sent off and e-mail to consumer direct and begged for help on the cableforum site. Finger's crossed something comes of this - I NEED my money back!
I'd never heard of chargeback before, but I'll find out more and see if that's a method I can use. Clearly I have the right to this money as I signed an agreement for £20 a month, not anywhere near what they keep nicking off me.
Thanks for that, momentarily calmed me down, I was fuming this morning! The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. What are the extra charges ?
Why are you not getting any bills ?
DId you know you can claim back money under the Direct Debit guarantee ?0 -
Honestly I can't figure it out, the bill makes no sense to me. I've asked the customer services to explain it to me a few times, but they just sigh and get annoyed with me.
I've also asked why I get bills every now and then but not regularly - they claimed not to know why.
I didn't know that, sounds interesting, another thing to look into I believe. I have decided I'm not going to let it lie seeing as it's insane - if it had been a couple of pounds maybe I'd be more willing to overlook it.
Funny that once this started the rep that signed me up refused to speak to me anymore, he was more than willing to when I enquired and possibly upgrading my services in the next year! The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Do you have broadband with them as your bills could be going to your email add, this is exactly what they did with me, I ended up filing 2 separate indemnity's for £75 each from the TV package and i was still £130 in credit with them, i also cancelled the DD. As for the broadband they were sending me nasty letters and i refused to pay without seeing a bill. When they actually said they were going to file with courts over none payment that when i really lost it. It took cancellations to actually inform the bills were going to an email add i didn't know i had. Go through cancellations they will sort it all out for you plus they will make sure you receive paper bills through the post instead of the unknown email add. I still don't know what the email add is as no one seems able to tell me.0 -

Yes I do actually, if they mean the e-mail we had to start when you install the broadband stuff I'd have no clue of the address - the guy who came out to install said put whatever you like there, not like you'll need it anyway!
Looks like I'm going to have a rather busy Monday doesn't it! Ah well, I'm going to look at the bright side here - in effect they've turned themselves into a savings account with me - because I'm due that money back and haven't been able to touch it over the 8 months with themI HAVE to think of a bright side before I go insane.

Good luck with Monday, Cancellations/retentions will sort it out for you.
Your problem is with Virgin Media mine was with NTL. I've always had reservations on putting my bill back onto DD with them even though they tell me we are a new company and do things differently to NTL. Obviously not.0 -
What services do you have with them ? Is it for extra broadband use or something like that ?
Why not cancel the direct debit because if they have extra of your money then it will cover the charge for a while.
Write them a letter and ask for a breakdown of charges.Nice to save.0 -

Yup, there's no difference in their uselessness, merely a different name to rant about! The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. I have a two for £20 offer they had back in september giving me broadband and basic tv. They keep putting extra charges on the TV. I'm going to write a letter today and send it recorded delivery once I figure out where and who exactly to send it to, as it's more likely to get read if addressed to a real person! The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all.
