Virgin media are STILL stealing from me.

Glad I'm not the only one in this position - since we changed our package in Novermber, we have had such a random assortment of bills, I have no idea where they pluck the figures from. I spoke to a very patronising woman who was convinced that I was 'unable to understand' my bill because of their new system, and it took me a good 20 minutes to point out that it was the complete nonsense that they write on it that I didn't understand.
Oh well, a letter to head office it is then, and a claim for interest on the money they have had of mine, which you should also ask for Plushroom, if they have had your money for 8 MONTHS!! Good luck - if I manage to find someone who can sort out my drama, I will post the details here...0 -
If you are paying by direct debit, simply claim every payment that wasn't for the sum of £20 back from your bank under the dd guarantee, then cancel the dd.
Careful with them though - when they were NTL they never took a payment from me one month (they never applied for it from my bank), and just took a double payment next month. I never worried about it - until I noticed they had recorded a late pamyent on my credit record!0 -
Hi.
Make sure that you do everything in writing, note down every payment and ask them to explain what it is for, ask them to confirm all email addresses etc that they have on file for you.
They are all crap though - nobody in the information service industry seems to have a clue or give a c**p about the customer, they know it is so hard to change over [tags on the line Broadband can hold you up from 1 to 18 months], and just rely on the fact that for every one of us that changes from them, someone will be just as frustrated by another provider and change back to them...
Good luck and make sure you do it all in writing all the way0 -

Hi, if you wanted me to try and make sense of your bills for you I'll give it a try (used to work for Virgin Media until recently.
If you want to copy your debits/credits with the dates from your bill onto a post I'll have a look.ITV Winners Club #87 :eek:0 -
OP once you have written to Virgin Media and they either ignore your letters for 28 days, or give you a reply you don't understand then contact OFCOM and register a complaint.
Call 020 7981 3040 during office hours but you must have written a complaint letter to Virgin Media and state in the letter they have 28 days to reply to you in writing.Make sure you have proof of delivery for your letter so use fax or recorded delivery.
Normally you have to wait longer than a month but as you have been complaining for a long time one month should be OK with OFCOM. OFCOM reference numbers for complaints tend to get the problem sorted with telecoms/broadband providers.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

I got so fed up with virgin media that I sent a recorded delivery letter to Sir richard Branson. I listed by date every problem, every call and every person I spoke to and pointed out that because of all the stress caused I needed a holiday, I then asked if I could holiday on his private island with flights by virgin which he gets to do with my money!!!
Low & behold I had a phonecall within a week from his PA who would deal with the matter. following week got a call from head of customer relations for virgin media who negotiated a goodwill payment which I get everymonth credited to my account. touch wood no probs since.:ADuct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."
