Advice please

On the weekend one evening my husband had a garden bonfire. Next door have told me this morning that the ash blew over and made holes in their trampoline. What should I do?

Yep that's what I would do too.

I agree, unfortunately you'll have to stump up.

I agree with getting them a new one to keep good neighbourly relations!

I would buy them a new one and offer to dispose of their old one so they don't have the hassle of doing that.
  • which "bit" of the trampoline has burnt? if it is the padded surround you can replace these easily online

I'd ask to look at what damage has been caused first before you pay anything!

I agree. I'd be surprised if ash that's had time to drift into their garden could actually burn through the trampoline. It cools down pretty quickly. How well do you get on with them, and is it possible that they're lying?

I'd expect it would be clear if a hole had been 'burnt' into the trampoline, so I'd definitely want to see it.

OP your OH should have warned neighbours of his intentions of having a bonfire. Not only could they have taken preventative action regarding their property, but if anyone had washing out on their lines they could have brought it in to avoid smoke and ash pollution.
