Earliest I can switch from BT Broadband with no penalty?

Hi, I have BT Infinity Broadband and my 18month contract completely ends on 10th Oct 2013. I have 2 questions
Firstly, when is the earliest I can switch to another provider without incurring any penalty fee's or charges?
Secondly I signed up to YouView from BT on the cheapest package (£5 for 12months) towards the start of this year, will it be possible to change my broadband and phone to another provider even with a few months to run on the 12month contract for the YouView? If not, does anyone know the penalty fee's involved with cancelled the 12month £5/month YouView deal?
Thanks for your help and advice in advance!!

You can switch without penalty once you have completed your minimum term.
BT's full YouView service requires you to use BT broadband
The ETC's will be on the BT site, but normally it will be the full contract amount outstanding to end of minimum term.
Bear in mind that any other FTTC service will just be a resold BT Wholesale product. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thanks for that info, after looking up my BT YouView email I can see my 12month contract started on 18th Feb 2013. I've had a look at the cancellation fee's for BT and it states the following:
BT Vision Service
Monthly Charge
Essential/Essential Extra viewing bundle £3.00.
So am I right in thinking if I switch to another broadband provider on Oct 10th I shall be liable to pay £3/month for the remainder of the YouView contract? Would that be 4 or 5 months to pay?
I'm also aware other 'fibre providers' piggy-back off BT FTTC infrastructure, but there are great new customer deals that are far better than what I'm currently getting with BT, so thats why I'm looking to switch.
Thanks alot!!Currently saving and planning for the holiday of a lifetime to Vegas in summer 2014!

If you took out Youview in February then this would also renew your broadband contract for another 12 months.
The cancellation charge for the youview will be £3.00 a month for each month left plus the remaining cost of the box which is anything upto £299.99. Also a charge for ending the broadband contract will apply. see here for the charges.

Hmm, this is odd as it wasn't mentioned to me at all when ordering said YouView box. What makes this even more confusing is that I did a 'live chat' with a BT customer service rep a few days ago, I asked when my broadband contract would end, and she said Oct 10th... Any ideas?Currently saving and planning for the holiday of a lifetime to Vegas in summer 2014!

You will need to speak to BT Customer Options Team on 0800 800 030 opt 1 and ask what the charges will be. This is BT cancellation dept and they will be able to tell you when your contracts end and what the charges will be.0
