This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Where is Halight recently? If anyone knows, please let us know he is ok and tell him we miss him.
Rushing for work so another hi and fly post, am stressed to bits at the moment but hoping it will ease up after first redundancy consultation meeting tomorrow. We still don't know the time and one rep still hasn't been elected. Brilliant organisation, I don't think
No idea what's for dinner so off to raid freezer now. Salads for lunches. Ebay has lots of watchers but not a bid in sight so fingers crossed for some action.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need them or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning TTFTM and all who follow :j
Well, it's a lovely morning here and I have a busy day planned. First of all I will be taking DD12 and my grand daughter to go and get some school shoes. This will be the last of the uniform bought so I will be very glad to get that out of the way.:) I'm aiming to get to Clarks when it opens so we can avoid the madness! Then it's back home to pick up DD10 and take her to the library for the reading challenge. Finally, I have to go to Tescos to get milk and bread and something for tea. I'm thinking toad in the hole and lots of veg. Our eating habits have definitely slipped over the summer holidays so I will be getting more fruit and veg down all of us from now on.:D
Hubby has been sent off to work with his packed lunch and new MP3 player so he's happy. He loves to listen to the Goon Show and Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy but I noticed him raiding my CD collection last night so he will probably be listening to a lot of 80's cheesy pop too :rotfl:.
I ordered a new shopping trolley yesterday as well as poor old Ethel is on her last legs/wheels! She did very well considering she was a cheapy buy from Lidls years ago but I have treated myself to a Rolser trolley now. I will have to think of an appropriate name for it when it arrives. It is pink with spirals so everyone should see me coming lol.
Anyway, that's it for now. Hope everyone manages to have a good day and I offer hugs to all who would like one.
Cheers m'dears x0 -
Morning everyone
Seems cooler this morning. Is autumn gearing up I wonder?!
Taking cat to vets this morning, then it's housework and packing. My life is so exciting :rotfl:
No cooking for tea as I am off out with friends for a last supper <sob> before we move. It all feels kinda surreal at the moment. I've lived here all my life and now I am moving away from all my friends and family in about 3 weeks time  we are hoping to exchange contracts end of this week so we can get some firm moving plans in place. Exciting times!
Anyway hugs and spoons all round xx

Good morning all,
Bright here today. Washing is on the line. Just lately i seem to have a never ending supply of washing to do.
Got to pop to the shops just to get some top up bits this morning. Will take jasper out for another long walk. After yesterdays walk he was sound asleep within five minutes of getting home. Have got to take dd to hospital this afternoon for her dermatology appointment. I think that will be just to sign her off really. They said last time they can't give her anymore injections.
Tea tonight is roast chicken with all the trimmings. Got to go over the allotment to pick the veg.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Hi all,
Painting almost finished, just need to do another coat of gloss on the back of the downstairs toilet door! Should probably make a start on that now actually...
Booked tickets to go to the cinema this morning. BF is back to work tomorrow, so we decided to go today. So cheap to go to the Empire Cinema on a Tuesday - even in the premier seats its only £3.75 each!
After that we need to go to the framing shop to order some custom made frames for posters we are getting, then back home for a bit before I need to pick my mum up from the airport! Busy day all round!
I baked some bread last night from a recipe by A Girl Called Jack that I found on the Telegraph website for garlic, lemon and herb bread. It was really nice! Also made a very simple cheese sauce that I found the recipe for on a student recipe website - I've never made cheese sauce before but it was lovely! Had that with smoked ham and cheese tortellini mmmmm!
Ok, must be off now - have a good day all!the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -

Mornin'all
Not in the best of moods this morning as dd1 got in my bed and wet it and I kept waking up every time I touched the wet patch.
To add to this she was told to tidy her room over a week ago. On Thursday I got so mad with her doing nothing about it that I shifted it all to the landing. She said yesterday shed nearly finished. What she omitted to say was hat she meant the shoe box she'd started. There are in excess of four black bags of stuff. I am about to tip it all in the back yard as I need to clean and this stuff is now in my way. I just don't know what to do with her no more.
I did this with younger girl and she had landing tidy within 24 hours.
My car is in today for its service and mot. Hoping all ok. If not too expensive I will get the air con done but have a feeling this can be costly. Failing that I may get the other kindle for younger girl and stash for Xmas so that I know their big pressie out the way.
Like other school uniform shoppers I'm nearly done on this. Will finish this week when get car back!
Hope you enjoy your day.Don’t put it down - put it away!

Morning all,
Bitsy I have noticed a chill in the air the last few days, there is a slight hint of autumn coming, good luck with your packing !
Got a wash on the go which will be hung on the line, need to drop dd at work this morning, then home for a shower and quick tidy round downstairs, I also need to pop to the shop for some juice and eggs, and something for dinner, (dont know what went wrong with my shoping last week but we are running out of all sorts) also need to do an online shop, go and see my dad and do some cooking for the funeral tomorrow ! Not sure I will get it all done but will try !
I fancy some chops of something for dinner, so might go to the butchers. Also I will get a tray of cracked eggs for the cakes etc for tomorrow.
Right better get on, have good days all xx0 -
Morning all, thanks for the warm welcome, I do always read this thread.
Off to the Swedish homeware shop today for a tv unit, our DS gave us a new tv and we need a different unit to store that and associated players.
HM spag Bol defrosting for dinner.
Lovely to see so many families at the Broadstairs Folk Festival yesterday, off there again Thursday for a wander and listen. Went last night too and the music was great, and better than that, free!
Hugs to all those who are in need, two and four legged.Carolbee0 -
Morning all,
Up early for me to see DD2 and granddaughters off on their way back to London...older DGD(8) in tears as she didn't want to go....says that she wants Daddy to come here to live.....she will be fine, does this every time she leaves...they have had a great holiday been from here to Donegal, to Kerry and Cork and the weather has been mostly good.
Not sure what we will have for dinner, there is some spag bol sauce in fridge, might turn that into a cottage pie which I love, OH would eat steak every day if he had his way, but that's not the way its going to be, need to cut back as am tight for spends this month.
We have had some rain overnight, stopped now, hopefully for the day, want to do some bits in the garden...as we have had a 'wild garden' this year there are lots of blackberries in the garden, have been picking some every day and putting in freezer for when I have enough to do something with...might even try to save them for winter puddings.
Hugs to all who are not well, have a good day everybody and stay safe and well.
