Almost...but I don't believe it from the previews!

I know a chap who flies with them and he said it was all crap!

Plus there's the fake interviews with the pilots all wearing their hats in silhouette, just to make you think they're totally legit and the real deal!

It's just left wing union troublemakers stirring up trouble as Micheal O'leary refuses to allow his pilots to participate/join the pilots union.
Or to acknowledge any union his pilots may join.
    Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!

The letters between the two sides prior to the show are shown here on the Ryanair website.

Ryanair come over as more convincing to me.
  • Whilst RyanAir certainly serve a purpose I absolutely detest their product.

I live very near Heathrow so my flights are primarily by scheduled carriers that do come with a cost premium. I've flown RyanAir once and found I couldn't get a moments peace with them selling scratchcards and other things.

However I did watch this program. The producers have taken a brave step here but, after reading those emails, they clearly believe they have a case with their evidence.

RyanAir have filed legal action today, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-23686678, so we'll see how it stacks up for sure.

    Good on them!!!

How Channel4 can try to give Ryanair a bad image for following the letter of the law is beyond me!!!
  • The Irish Aviation Authority says "Ryanair fuel policy fully complies with... European regulations" and "Ryanair captains have discretion to upload extra fuel and regularly do so where weather or delays are anticipated."

The Authority said "we regularly review the fuel policy of Ryanair as part of our routine surveillance programme and we have no concerns currently that any undue upload restrictions implied or otherwise exist."

Maybe the programme should have asked: why do Ryanair have such an impressive safety record?
  • Channel 4 was the last straw for me. There has now been a relentless slew of media reports about safety at Ryanair. In each case they appear to be cutting costs at the expense of the safety of families. Each time they come up with some garbage excuse - like a conspiracy of left wing trade union pilots or some such rubbish. I remember in 2011 they used gaffer tape or some such tape on window and the plane had to make an emergency landing. Then they wanted to fly through the volcanic ash.

And O'Leary always has the same story - our safety record is good. Its a bit like a person falling out of the 40 story building and noting that all is well.

Have you not been reading the last few posts?
They comply with and in some cases exceed the regulations set out for safety.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I can't stand Ryanair's product and will only fly with them when there is no alternative but I've got no concerns at all about their safety record. The Channel 4 programme was extremely one sided.
