webuyanycar ... as i thought. Thanks!
Hi my wife's car is on its last legs. The head gasket recently blew! .. Ironically 2 weeks before that it had been fitted with new quality Michelin tyres. It's now beyond economical repair. What's best? .. scrap it, Ebay it, or? It's currently off road with a SORN

Clio autos are quite sought after as they're relatively rare.
Might fetch strong money even if the head is gone.0 -

If it's going for scrap, keep the wheels and sell them separately.
I'd stick it on eBay, to see what interest it gets, especially as small cars are the 'thing' to have at the moment.

Hi, my apologies for the large fonts. Thanks for all the tips etc so far. I have had this car since is birth so it will be sad to see it go. I would like to see it go to a good home. The only is the head gasket. Otherwise its never been a problem."onwards & upwards"0

You are likely to get the best price selling privately and for this I would suggest autotrader, gumtree and pistonheads. eBay can be good but as a motor dealer myself we have stopped using in auction format as the site does seem to generate an awful lot of timewasters.
I cannot comment on webuyanycar.com but I know there has been a lot of bad press about their valuations. An alternative is a comparison site called dealerbid.co.uk which we are actually registered to that will broadcast your vehicle details only to motor dealers and car buying websites where interested buyers will contact you via the site or direct with their individual valuations.
Other than this have you tried putting a price in the window with a contact number and parking it in a safe place that gets lots of passing traffic?0 -
One tip I can give (as a middle finger to the DVLA), assuming you have now another car??? Don't leave this old car without insurance otherwise you'll get a nasty letter in the post.
SORN it, insure it or SORN the new one until the old one sells.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
