A friend said that I need a WEP key, I have managed to find a page in the system the shows a Wep key but in the box were the key should be displayed it just shows a series of XXXXX.
Any help would be appreciated.
Go to this page and change your encryption to WPA-PSK instead of WEP (WEP has been replaced) and enter a long random key from here i.e. 63 characters.
Copy and paste this same key when prompted during connection. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Login from your wired desktop. Your WEP key is stored in your router config page http://192.168.0.1 username = admin ; password = password (unless someone changed it) then you go to security and see the wEP key or setup a new one, the same key must be entered on the laptop. Better use WPA it's far more secure than WEP.0

You best do this from your desktop since your laptop is not yet connected via wireless, or as advised in the above post, use an ethernet cable to connect the laptop to the router.0 -
