You could try trade plate driving but not well paid.

Thanks. Hadn't looked into that before. Found a number of problems with that idea though. First being there's not a single job advert for that in my area lol.

Aside from that, most want you to have had a licence for longer than I've had one, they want someone over 25 and they say about driving all over the UK which I wouldn't want to do.

I'll keep checking for jobs like that though as not all want that or will involve such distances.

To be a taxi driver you need to have a medical plus a licence allowing you to drive for hire, most local authorities control this so OP would need to enquire there, not a job you can walk into right away, plus many are self employed.

In addition to the above, if you wish to be a private hire driver in London you will also need to have no sense of direction and not use your indicators

Driving jobs are less fun these days. Are you not looking at other types of work as well ?

I am, but not getting anywhere with other jobs so figured it was worth trying to improve my chances with a driving job. No jobs I've seen/applied for could be classed as fun so...

Maybe try the likes of the supermarket 'click and collect' driver jobs?

A lot of drivers are doing warehouse work as lack of driving jobs.

Yeah, that doesn't help me...I have seen driving jobs I want and could do, I just don't have any official driving experience. So there's obviously some driving jobs out there. Certainly a lot of lorry driving jobs out there.

The driving jobs aren't all about driving, you have to be good with dealing with customers, have to be good with paperwork, getting signatures and the like. When I first passed my test 20 odd year ago I thought driving jobs but they wouldn't touch me with a barge pole and unless I had atleast 2 years experience.

As for car driving those jobs are few and far between, maybe getting a job in a warehouse with occasional driving would be good to get experience or pharmacy driver.
