Hi all. I wonder if anyone can shed any light on some issues that have recently started since entering competitions from the MSE site? Recently, every post I view on here has turned normal posts with key words such as the word 'win', 'competition', etc, into hyperlinks which in turn (as I've clicked on them accidentally) lead to some big flashing comp adverts that I don't like the look of. I also get a 'Wowcher' page up from seeming out of nowhere.
Finally, and perhaps the most worrying- many sites that I go on frequently, such as Barclays, Tesco etc will get disturbed by a page popping up asking me to do a survey about them. I forget the name of the site but it's maybe something like myoffers/Barclays or myoffers/Tesco etc etc. Can anyone help please? No idea what I've done!

Thank you. I've just run that and it says that I have a virus and it wants me to pay to fix it. Do you know of any free malware fix type things I can get at all?0

Run Trend HouseCall and clean it up http://housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/index.html then after every session use Crap Cleaner to clean out ALL the cookies and stuff. bit of pain when you have to sign back in tio sites, but once a day should be enough.0 -

Recently had a similar problem and it wasn't detected by any of the Virus checkers. I found the offender installed as a browser add-on. Sorry, can't remeber what it was called but it's name stood out in the list. Try having a look at your enabled browser add-ons and disable anything that looks of place.Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0
