    Morning all,

Quite glad it's Monday as the weekend was so busy.

Had to pop to the doctors first thing for an examination, just need to follow up with a scan, don't think it's anything to worry about though.

It's wet here and feels cooler. I slept much better last night:D

We are doing an experiment later, I'm having a shower whilst dh looks under the bath. We've got a leak which we thought was sorted but isn't so he wants to check it out whilst I'm in the shower as that's when it leaks most:eek: once its sorted we can re plaster the living room and get on with the decorating.

Still haven't caught the rat, even with peanut butter but dh is on the case it's turned into a battle of wills.

Ds3 is off for his second week at work and looking forward to it.

Tea tonight spag Bol with garlic bread and will save some for the evening worker.

Dumpling I hadn't realised you had so many girls, omg I don't know how you cope, I've three boys and a girl and am eternally grateful it's not the other way around. I find girls hard work or is that just me?

Anyway off to surf for a while. Just been looking on the DFW board, some people are awful and judgemental thank goodness I only post on friendly forums.

Have a good day all, oh and welcome Carol:)

I have visions of Judi kayaking down the hill! :D

Pleasant day here, but definitely a good deal cooler - about 17C.

    Morning all,

yes Bitsy we now have water. It was off for about 4 hours but we had a flurry of Water Board vans patrolling the area trying to find the source of the leak. I would have thought you would have to follow the leak backwards (I live on a hill so I wouldn't have thought it too difficult) but no we had men in vans wearing hi vis vests that were hanging out of the window with iPad thingies. Seems like its a complicated process these days to locate a leak. :-D (Damn I miss my smileys).

Amazing what you hear when your in the next room cooking Sunday dinner. Apparently hubby has got his retirement all sorted. His mate receives his pension at 50 (a few months away) and casually mentioned he wanted to move to France. Apparently hubby has got our retirement sorted too and no sitting in a caravan in the middle of a field miles away from anywhere is not the sort of retirement I have in mind. :-( Looks like some straight talking when the time comes I think. Seems like he's not exactly in 'Youngests' good books either from the casual post he made on his Twitter. Shame really.

I couldn't sleep last night which resulted in me not waking up very early this morning. I'm a bit behind with my jobs but sod them i'm not in the mood. I have to go to the post office today and also pick up my medication from the chemist. I ordered it last week and should have been ready for collect on Friday.

A big warm welcome to Carolbee. Good to have you here.

I think i'm doing spag bol for tea tonight though that might change depending on my mood.

Have a great day all. I will quite possibly now the men are at work.

    Afternoon All

Weather a little unsettled here but the washing is out on the line, hopefully it will stay dry, there is a breeze so that will help.

DD went to stay with her grandparents yesterday so I was looking forward to having a relaxing day but the supervisor at evening job had a domestic crisis and asked me to go in. Never mind, it's all money I suppose but I feel a bit cheated! This is the last day of our summer holiday, school is back tomorrow (boo).

Having ceasar (can't seem to get that spelling right!) later and then work.

Anyone heard from Monnogran, Halight has been posting on FB.

    Take care. XX

...Got to go and pick some beetroot from the allotment for tea and also fill another container with raspberries. We are getting quite a few raspberries in the freezer now...

Our freezer is full of allotment produce - french beans & spinach made into what DH calls "green cow pats" but I'm sure I will fill any spare corners up with autumn rasps, stewed plums & stewed apple :p

    Hi all

Quick post, I have to nip out and do posting of a different sort in a bit - in the big red letter box! ;)

Mr LW had a very weird phone call yesterday, from an old acquaintance. I say "acquaintance" because I've always thought, and Mr LW now agrees after something the guy did a few years ago that could have landed us in deep doo-doo if we'd gone along with it, that the guy in question is a self-serving little !!!!!!.
Anyways - the chap phoned Mr LW - something he never does unless he's after a favour - and was apparently asking all sorts of very personal questions about Mr LW's work situation, and - can you believe - detailed questions about my health situation!
Afterwards, I asked Mr LW what all that was in aid of - my health is none of the guy's business - and he said the guy was on about leaving Mr LW some money in his will. !!!!!!?? He's not family or even a close friend - f'r instance we didn't invite him to our wedding; and we only keep him on the Yule card list out of politeness. I'm deeply suspicious, but I don't have anything solid to base suspicion on. All I know is I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw a grand piano.:( What I do know is that I think the will business was a load of baloney (he's married, so surely he'd leave all his money to his wife, in any case); he's been known to be "inventive" with the truth before, and I Don't Trust Him!!

Oh well - either all will be made clear eventually, or it'll remain one of life's mysteries - I just needed to tell someone, I think.:o

Must go - want to get these letters gone while the sun's out.:p

Ha, girls are hard work especially as they are all in the throes of hormones at the moment. I would have loved a little boy but it just never happened, we had a baby a year for 3 years and then I wasn't allowed to have any more, much to my eldest DD's relief. I lost one early on in a pregnancy and I always think that would have been my son. Saying that, I have three sisters and that's all I really knew. I am so fascinated with my grandson, he is the apple of my eye, just so different to his sister and aunties. I have nephews but I don't live very close to them so we tend to see them at family occasions only.

I would be thinking identity theft? Or if it was possible to insure either of you without your knowledge so that he could pocket a payout or claim of some kind.

Had lovely weekend with house full of family and friends (eight in all) so feels really quiet today. Nipped to butchers and bought family pack of meat for the week and sausage wellington with sage and onion stuffing topping is ready to bake for tea.

I need to go and get milk and batteries and some cash for taxi tomorrow morning for DH to go to hospital so hug to all and see you later.

Elona I hope to the gods that he wouldn't stoop so low as ID theft; but I shall certainly be vigilant. No insurance company will touch me with a barge pole, so if that's his idea, I'd say he's out of luck, though tbh that does sound like his style.:( He was at uni with Mr LW, and also worked at the same company as him some years back; he's extremely unpopular with Mr LW's friends (don't know what he's done to them, but we're talking about chaps who don't dislike a person without very good reason). The last thing he tried to con Mr LW into getting involved in was some sort of gambling scam, but I managed to head him off at the pass on that one - we'd have lost thousands if Mr LW had been taken in. Mr LW's trouble is he's too trusting, and will always help anyone out if he can; he'd have fallen for it hook line and sinker if I hadn't been there.:( Oh, and on that occasion the guy invited himself over here; and when I put my foot down and said we were not going to get involved, thank you, he threw a very childish paddywack! With "friends" like that, we don't need enemies!:D

Anyways - my letters have been posted, and I found the first of the season's blackberries while I was out.:T
