Sympathies OP. We had neighbours like this, they started up at 11am and went on until 3pm, then went down the pub, back home at 11pm blasting music out until 2am then quiet until it all started up again at 11am the following morning. When we first moved in I thought it was the other neighbours dog howling (!), then I noticed the wide open windows in the upstairs flat...... The postman thought it was hysterical and said that it had been like that since they moved in and that he was glad he didn't have to live under them. The neighbours the other side said that they had mentioned it to them and had been told that he didn't care and that he 'liked everyone knowing'!!
Luckily we rented and could get out after 6 months, but our poor neighbour owned hers. Even now, 20 years later, I'm still oversensitive to noise due to these people.
If I had been told this story before I would have thought it amusing and have said to bang on the wall, given a round of applause etc., but having lived with this myself I get how awful the situation is.
Sorry it is no practical help but wanted to sympathise.Jan NSD 4/15

Banging on the wall is a serious suggestion. They may genuinely not realise they can be heard and might be mortified.0 -
I'd shout loud enough so they could hear me, "Bloody hell darling, sounds like there's a cat dying next door", and then bang on the wall enquiring if their cat is okay as it sounds like it's injured.
I haven't experienced noisy sex neighbours as such, only on holiday in Germany where a German couple were giving it some for each night of our stay. The chorus of "Ja ja ja" was hilarious for the first night, but the second we had to use loo roll to put in our ears. It'd go on for hours, they'd have a shower, then continue for hours again. The first night it went on from about 11pm to 4am. I'm surprised they weren't hoarse the second night.0 -
Put up a soundproof wall, done easily and cheaply enough. we have done this, to block the noise from next door you can by the sheets down at Wickes et.a al. it is like dry walling.
Pop a note through their letterbox, that there might be a bit noise while you putting up a soundproofiung wall as you don;t want to be a voyeur when they have their love making sessions.
Be brave. Just remember they musy hear your noiuse also.
Our noise problem wasn't love making it was from the bathroom and kitchen. So when we remodelled we soundproofed the adjoining walls on that side of the house. Easy Peasy...0
