My Sky has been off and on all year, cant wait until october to go back to talktalk fibre. I have called sky on occasions informing them of the drop but they will not give me another router. I have to take my phone sockets to bits to explore even though im no engineer. If I refuse to do this they refuse to help anymore.
I know its the router at fault, never had any issues in over 15 years of service with other companies. so come october, byebye sky!All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -
Probably many people will be, for one reason or another, but of course it depends where you are, how is your line connected, whether you have filters on you phones. Have you done speed tests prior to today when it was faster? how fast does your router sync normally, too many variables to say whether it's sky or just you.is anyone else having trouble with sky broadband, its on and off all day, and worse at night, the router keeps flickering all the time only stopping when l'm back online, l can no longer watch lovefilm streaming and to watch youtube l have to change the quality from 360 to 144, lve also done a bandwith speed test and that was 0.2mb upload and 0.2mb download, sky have been less than useless when l phone, any advice would be greatly appreciated4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . we never had any trouble before this and the speed was excellent, they've had me taking the phone sockets to bits also but it never does any goodMy Sky has been off and on all year, cant wait until october to go back to talktalk fibre. ours is perfect, we had an issue last week of dropping internet and cracking on phone. after various emails and chats with sky ( Executive Support Team) and sky jumping as hard onto Opeenreach as line test found it was an outside line problem. this was sorted and a £20 credit onto our sky account.

we do have filters on the phone and sky has been fine up until a few weeks ago so never saw the need to do a speed testdebitcardmayhem wrote: »Probably many people will be, for one reason or another, but of course it depends where you are, how is your line connected, whether you have filters on you phones. I have filters etc, but as I say sky want me to take all my sockets to bits, well i have 2, but i have refused so they wil not help further, not even send a new router. They even lied to me regarding my old router, I took out my sky hub and put in my old talktalk one that has been running perfect for several years. Sky said it wasnt compatible but i told them it was I only needed to swap my password over to the sky one, they refused to help me. So I had to put the sky box back in .
Roll on 27th October when i can go back with talktalk and get fibre superfast bbAll the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -

All Sky are asking you to do is test using ethernet from the NTE5 master socket split faceplate test socket (not 'take it to bits'-it simply involves undoing two screws) The extension socket is not their responsibility. This will determine whether the fault is on the line or on your domestic wiring. No free lunch, and no free laptop

they don't seem to have been much help to you l don't blame you for changing back, just to say that my daughter who lives half a mile away is having the exact same problem as meI have filters etc, but as I say sky want me to take all my sockets to bits, well i have 2, but i have refused so they wil not help further, not even send a new router. Its not for the ethernet cable its to test the line connection using the grey/black phone cable from master socket to router.
But this will only work if you have a new master socket that has the BT openreach logo/name on it as the older master sockets have no test socket0
