Have a broadband connection on my desktop which is wired into a Netgear wireless router with aol as my ISP. Just bought a dell laptop but can’t get it to connect to the internet with a wireless connection. When I open Internet Explorer it keeps showing “The page cannot be displayed”. A friend said that I need a WEP key, I have managed to find a page in the system the shows a Wep key but in the box were the key should be displayed it just shows a series of XXXXX. Any help would be appreciated.

have a look on the bottom of the aol netgear box there is a sticker that displays the key. or is that BT? I will check the router in my car if you reply it isnt you may need to set the key yourself.

when your wireelss enabled laptop finds the wireless network you will select it and click connect it will then ask you for the key either WEP or WPA, enter it twice and away you go.
