Afternoon all I have a kettle which is leaking, I bought it on 29.09.12 along with the matching toaster using my credit card. I no longer have the receipt or packaging only my credit card statement which shows the total amount. How can I get a replacement? Many thanks for your help

If you know the store & date of purchase (and ideally have some proof like a credit card statement) they will be able to find your receipt on the system.Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0

edited for you.If you know the store & date of purchase (and ideally have some proof like a credit card statement) they [STRIKE]will[/STRIKE] may be able to find your receipt on the system if they can be bothered.
When I worked for a retail company I found a customer receipt on the (SAP based) system from another store, "it was not possible to do it" in the other store.0 -
A credit card statement is fine for proof of purchase and you don't need the packaging for faulty items.
Although if a kettle has started leaking after 11 months are you sure it hasn't been dropped or repeatedly bashed against the side of the sink as it's been filled for the last year?
What part of the kettle is leaking?
As it is past 6 months they could insist on you getting an independent report as proof that it's a defect and not misuse that's caused it.0 -
depending on the kettle after 11 months i would just go an get a new one0

Thanks for your replies. It has not been misused or dropped or damaged in anyway just used to make tea! It is leaking from the clear part that shows how much water is in it. It is a Morphy Richards one, I could go get a new one but this one is not yet a year old has only had moderate use and should be working fine, my last one worked for 5 years.0

Really, taking the issue of consumer rights aside, you'd still have the remainder of a manufacturers warranty to fall back on.earthstorm wrote: »depending on the kettle after 11 months i would just go an get a new one0 -
OP, yes Currys are the ones responsible to you regarding your consumer rights but bear in mind that after 6 months the onus is now on you to prove that fault is inherent to manufacturer rather than misuse. It may be easier to contact the manufacturer in this instance to see if you can get something under the warranty (assuming it has a 12 month guarantee)shul558127 wrote: »Thanks for your replies. Your bank statement should be enough. They just need to find the kettle's product code and search for transactions of that code on the date your bank statement shows it was bought and... ta-da...Squirrel!If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

I have a morphy richards kettle (toaster..microwave..slow cooker..)
We had to send off for a 2 year warranty with Morphy Richards. Would probably be better to go through them? They would have record of your purchase if you registered your warrantySlimming World: 1stone 11lbs lost in 11 weeks0
