Yes i was thinking that too. But then it's probably because it's so good that no one has any problems with it!;)
What I'd like is for different recipes people have used other than the ones in the manual.
One thing I do is almost double the bread dough recipe when making rolls(using 800g of flour and 520mls of water). the BM seems to cope with that amount well.0 -
I did mention before that I treble the quantities for pizza dough, but reduce the water slightly, I think 600mls if I remember correctly for 3 pizzas.Penny xxx
Old age isn't bad when you consider the alternative.0 -
The SD255 arrived today and is baking as we speak! Got in such a rush and so excited, hope I put everything in :rotfl:0

I have the SD255 and it's great. It does everything the SD253 did, but it also has new programmes (and a special paddle) for making 100% rye bread and Spelt bread. The first thing I did with mine was make a Rye loaf, and it was luverley!0

Was so happy about my very first loaf that I took pictures, lol.
Made an everyday white loaf (L) and came out great except for the paddle being stuck in the bottom - didn't wait until it was completely cool as suggested to dig it out - wanted a warm slice with PB!
It did say in the book that when it does get stuck in to try adding a little extra water next time, so will do. I am just so thrilled to have it and will have to keep scouring the posts for hints and suggestions.0 -
I'm going to buy a panasonic sd253 on Sunday from currys got the display model put a side and getting it for £90 matching the online price and despite trying to haggle not getting any discount
Been thinking though everywhere is sold out because the new model is due out does anybody know what the difference will be? Will it be the same with maybe new added features? tried looking but cant find any details but maybe i'm searching wrongly. Desperate to get this though so i can make my gluten free bread
I got an SD253 on ebay for £50. They are seconds but silly things wrong like instruction booklet missing or measuring spoon missing. Mine was s'posed to have damaged packaging but was perfect when I got it. I think they are fab and I use mine all the time except I chucked the kneading blade away last week  . It got stuck in the bottom of a loaf that I forgot to use and chucked forgetting the blade was in the bottom. So now I need to get a new one.0 -

It depends on what kind of baking you're going to do. The 254 has a "raisin beep", which beeps to tell you it's time to add raisins/seeds/nuts etc. The 255 has a "raisin dispenser", which means you can put your raisins/seeds/nuts in the dispenser, and at the appropriate time the chute opens and the extras drop in to the dough.
I make a lot of breads and doughs with additions, so the dispenser is what I would pick. However, £60 is very good value.0
