  • Oooo Magnums - guess the MSE newsletter will either clear all stores early or probably put pay quickly to the glitch.
I remember buying them REALLY cheap last year from Asda - trouble is I can't resist them at all - NO willpower whatsoever with them.
Guess this is one I should miss out on for the sake of my health. However IF I passed an express I might be tempted (at least 10 miles away). Wonder if a day trip out is in order tomorrow? :)

Right, at last here we are...
Although suffering the usual shortcomings as before (needs to be checked against a.com) - I've removed items that didn't compare favourably vs A yesterday (Branston Beans multipack, Yazoo Milkshake 500ml), I've omitted Oreo Vanilla Cookies (2x154g) as a.com says 308g but t.com 2x154g - a similar issue that afflicts the Mars Bar 4 pack which didn't compare on T PP earlier. If you notice any of the supposed 'N/A' items on a.com (certainly any at more expensive prices than T:eek: or otherwise where A is not at least 10% cheaper, please let this thread know and PM me to delete them as well).

Some, or even quite a few, of these items are only avail. in larger Extra stores, as I experienced (probably to my cost) yesterday.

Lot of possibly good BM vs Tosco items, as well as Avs T items, being noticed during the compilation of this - some of the Svs T items are indicated below (but prices to appear - sorry much later - in a substantive Svs T list).

Tvs A (I know it's a bit difficult to read - just remember the prices are below each item;))

Nouvelle 100% Recycled Soft Toilet Tissue - 225 Sheets per Roll (9)

    £4.48 N/A
Innocent Fruit Tubes for Kids Strawberries & Raspberries (6x40ml)

Buy maximum of 1 Aero Mousse only on any one shop:
Nestle Aero Milk Chocolate/White Chocolate/Peppermint/Caramel & Chocolate Mousse (4 per pack)
£1.39 50p (but pay probably 50p more now that A's glitch is over, under which they were nearly free/free/better than free, whatever it was)

    90p 64p

5xHeinz Spaghetti with Sausages in Tomato Sauce (400g)
95px5 Any 5 for £3.00 (v.good price per can - 60p each - usual price per can, with offers, works out at 75p and even 10% off that, as it's invariably at competitors to A, is still more expensive) T PP picked up A's mbuy yesterday (I didn't attempt mix and match)
5xHeinz Spaghetti with Meatballs in Tomato Sauce (400g)
    95px5 Any 5 for £3.00
Dole Tropical Gold Pineapple Slices in Juice (567g)
£1.10 50p (may be a risk, who knows - wording on a.com is not precise - but works on Sains BM - don't get the pineapple chunks as I did once and lost the difference)
    2xKucharek Universal Vegetable Seasoning (200g)
    Any 2 for £1.00 N/A
    Ye Olde Oak Ham (300g)
    £1.00 N/A (also vs S N/A or Tvs M £1.00 vs £1.00)
    Sarson's Gravy Browning (150g)
    85p 70p
Tesco Pitted Prunes in Grape Juice (350g)

£3.00 £2.25 (but not as good as lowest M price and then Avs M for £1.80 net.)

Tesco Everyday Value Pork Chops (800g)
    £2.50 N/A
Country Store Cauliflower Carrot & Broccoli Mix (1Kg)
99p N/A (but now noticed the word "T" has appeared on msm before the "Country Store" - does this mean it now compares (at much higher price) vs an own brand at A?) A's ASDA CBY Broccoli, Cauliflower & Baby Carrots (1Kg) is currently £1.25 (you can argue it's baby carrots and therefore shouldn't compare, but, if it does compare, whether or not you'll have much success on that argument...)
Coppenrath & Wiese Lemon Swirl Cheesecake (445g)
    £1.00 N/A
Nestle Potz Rolo Ice Cream (160ml)
£1.39 50p (but not as good as M's 50p on the Toffee Crisp version, which now appears to be going OOS if not OOS, as that was 220ml)
Nestle Potz Smarties Ice Cream (160ml)
    £1.39 50p (as above)
Nestle Potz Munchies Ice Cream (160ml)
£1.39 50p (as above) Of course you can stick (with care!) the Qual Street version in A at 50p on an Avs T comp. as T doesn't (apparently) have it.
T Goodness for Kids Pasta with Bolognaise Sauce (250g)
    75p N/A
Birds Eye Field Fresh Petit Pois (545g)
£1.50 £1.00 (too expensive for me, about half the size of SP)
    Tesco Value Nice Biscuits (400g)
    45p N/A
    Terry's Chocolate Orange - Milk (175g)
£2.50 £1.00 confirmed yesterday Also confirmed recently on Sains BM - but not as good as when Superdrug were 75p
    Nestle Milkybar Buttons (4x20g)
£1.19 85p (but price per unit quite high and higher than Nestle Animal Bar - even though even with 10% off that price per unit was still quite high - Avs T 85p previously on Animal Bar (now expired))
    Tesco Scottish Rough Oatcakes (250g)
69p N/A (check a.com carefully) Awaiting Morries check on Nairn version - but that probably not cheaper.

    Any 4 for £1.00 N/A
    Trebor Soft Fruits (4)
    £1.00 N/A (probably other Trebor 4 packs at £1.00 vs A N/A - sadly T & S pricematched at £1.00 each at the moment)
Tesco Everyday Value Milk Chocolate Wafers (5)
    54p N/A (also Tvs S N/A???)
    2xRankin Irish Barmbrack (480g)
Any 2 for £2.00 N/A (quite expensive??? And having to buy 2.)
    2xTesco Baker's Soft Oven Bottom Muffins (4)
80px2 Any 2 for £1.00 in A (perhaps - but msm keeps changing to a Kingsmill product, so may be some issue - also I think A's version is slightly larger than T's - so buy in T, away from an Avs T comp of course, as T price matches but does not adjust price downwards for weight)
    Tesco Everyday Value Malt Loaf
    28p N/A
Tesco Everyday Value Medium Sliced Wholemeal Bread (800g)
47p N/A (returns A at 47p on T PP, but has no effect - just check price of A's Brown Bread 800g is still 47p) Of course whoops are cheaper!

    50p N/A
Tesco Everyday Value Minced Beef Pasties (3 per pack - 450g)
£1.10 N/A (I daren't not try this as may compare vs £1.17 on A's SP Minced Beef & Onion Pies 3x150g - but probably would have worked since I didn't try it)
Innocent Indian Daal Veg Pot (380g)£1.95 N/A
Innocent Mexican Veg Pot (390g)£1.95 N/A
Innocent Moussaka Veg Pot (380g)£1.95 N/A
Some of these Innocents Svs T?
    2xTesco Soured Cream & Chive Dip (211g)

Tesco Everyday Value Pork Sausages (8 per pack - 454g)
59p N/A Price increase from 56p earlier in the year?? Awaiting Morries check to see if slightly cheaper there (and then Tvs M assuming picks up). T product looked very nasty to me though last time I looked at it.
Tulip Honey Roast Ham (15 per pack - 355g)
£2.00 N/A (but more expensive per pack than when it was on 3 for 2 or prev. price of £1.85? £1.99?)
Tesco Pork & Egg Loaf (208g)
95p N/A (care - A has a Pork & Egg product that this may compare to at higher price)

Young's Chunky Breaded Fish Fillets (4 per pack - 460g)

    £4.69 £2.00
    Aquafresh Clean Deep Medium Toothbrush

Tesco Dispersible Aspirin 300mg Tablets (16)
24p N/A (we think, but does T PP compare to 25p at A and take a penny off you?)
Garnier Fructis Style Manga Head Explosive Putty Matte Effect (150ml)
    £2.96 £1.50 (expensive yea?)
Oral B Advantage Plus Medium 35 Complete Clean Toothbrush

Salt, pepper, garlic, lemon Juice perhaps :D

Okay - I think the seasoning I needed was 2x Kucharek Universal Vegetable Seasoning (200g) (hidden in that Tvs A post above :D) but I couldn't find it in my store:(. I should be a seasoned shopper, although it'll be very unjust to say (even of myself to say of myself) that I should be seasoned with this product, as I'm certainly very bright! Seems good value to me though.

That's it from me for now. I'll see you later.:):)

    Good morning.:):)

Hiya Fairclaire. I put down both incase there was ever a meet etc. I live in merseyside and spend half the time looking after my mum who is in Lancs :) It's a pain moving between the two but I do have doule the chances of finding the bargains.
