At least this way, you don't think I'm a weirdo for only messaging you privately! I'd never muscle in on DMs turfzippydooda wrote: »not always lurking, I was not around in the dtd days, but can remember you posting a 18 months back. on the 11+ threads. welcome back
I remember you too. I changed my username since then but all my posts should be searchable for those who doubt my provenanceThanks for the welcome. I've read almost every post these past two years so it's strange to suddenly jump in and disrupt everything! Do we know what happened to stebiz? And, more recently, where's SpiralingDown got to?

Ah, the days of a £100 porkie on a £103 shop (my personal best)!
Thanks for the welcome. Hope you're keeping well.10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0 -
I guess you already know this - but the Galaxy glitch has certainly been fixed. Both my early morning shops compared the 35p price so nothing back. Still cheap chocolate though - not that I should be eating it as, after my 8th 5:2 week I've only lost a piddling little 0.25 lbs this week ! Don't know why as I actually did 4:3 and kept strictly to the limits (as in previous weeks). Perhaps my body has just hit a temporary plateau - I'm off to Portuagal on Friday so I'll try to fit in 2 fast days before then and hope that the 'rest' kicks my metabolism back into action.ELITE 5:2

Some of you may remember me from Tesco's DTD days - I was the one that collated all comparing items from each post and put them up as a big daily list for people to pick through. And one of the few that argued against the use of the spreadsheet which, I still believe, was the reason for its demise. I'm now pleased to see all the tips and hints are fairly secretive but still open to those willing to do a bit of legwork.
I left the forums after I attempted to start something like the Elite up on the day DTD ended but it was moved to the Food Shopping board and died a slow and painful death. I also remember arguing that although our 'cottage industry' had died that day, it was quite possible to manipulate the system still, particularly with the use of MOCs. After arguing for a day or two, I left the forums and concentrated on going it alone!
A few months later, I returned to find the 'Elite 11+' up and running and have been lurking ever since. Where have the last two years gone?!
I have been in contact with old members that frequented our giant thread in those days via PM occasionally (:hello: Nikkilala) and some newer people I didn't recognise at the time or who live locally (:hello: fairclaire!).
I think you're all fantastic. I have shared highs and lows over the past two years with you - logie's illness and fightback, 3Dogs's Alan passing, a multitude of babies entering the world, the loss of HappyChappy and the gaining of SavvyBuyer and, of course, your stories of stashes and shopping trips that would make even Martin Lewis red-faced.
I'm looking forward to entering the fold once more and contributing as much as possible. These days, I tend to coupon more than I did pre-DTD days and I take the !!!! out of as many MOCs as I can prior to their expiry date.
With this in mind, I picked up two Palmolive showers gels this morning from Tesco for 74p each with this coupon here (lets you print two): http://www.findyoursanctuary.co.uk/win.php
I hope you'll welcome me aboard and I hope to find many bargains to help you all out, as you've all helped me these past two years.
Here's a brilliant glitchy new thread!
Ah, what a genuinely lovely and heartfelt post.. Hope you'll continue to post nowI certainly used the dtd spreadsheets a few years back so thanks for doing all that hard work - it was great. Welcome aboard :T

Since I've been away from the elite, I've Been selling my junk on eBay and Facebook. Mainly glitches from here, in 3 weeks I've raised £519. Feels great to less in the house but also I've already donated half to charity to feed the poor in needy countries, money to refugees in Burma and the rest well need a few hundred more I'm going to give to a charity to dig a well. So a community can have clean water for over 10 years. It feels great. Been doing this project while grieving over my dads death. Trying to put a positive in this stressful time. Thanks elite.0
