HP tour is awesome! If you get there early, and they are quiet, they will let you in early, so it is worth going before your time. And be prepared to lie about it being your birthday (you'll see why) for an extra treat.

It is split in two parts, and once you leave the first you cant go back, so make sure you have seen it all. The first part is better IMO.

They will also let you stay all day, so make the most of it.

If you want to save some money then they encourage you to take your own food/drink so pack a picnic if you dont like paying steep prices. But if your buying Butterbeer, if you go for the cheap option you dont get a souvenir mug, so IMO it is worth paying more.
The gift shop is pricy as well, but there are loads of things in it, wands are pushing £30 each and most of the bits are from The Noble Collection on amazon etc. so you browse beforehand.

It is a bit more like a museum, so be prepared for that, but take a camera as you will have loads of photo opportunities.

Hope this helps, sorry to go on so long!

Brilliant, thanks for this Lawrie
Will make sure I mention we're there for my birthday treat ;)

DH got a 6pm ticket but I think it's open til half 9 and we'll try and get there a bit earlier. To be honest, I wouldn't manage a whole day on my feet so an evening is great :D

Hi QRB. Buying the following items in store will cost £24.20 (Carling Zest £9, jaffa cakes £2.20, Persil bio 40 wash £10, Flora 1kg spread £3). I had a til spit for £4.50 off £30 hence why I got a few other bits.

If you just bought those 4 items, you would get a BM with your receipt for £9.20. You can claim the full money back for £10 from persil if you are unhappy with the product ;) You scan your receipt into MySL for 50% cashback on the jaffa cakes, zest and flora. That's another £7.10 back :D

Trouble with that is you have to use a smart phone with an App? My £5 moblily only manages to make calls and texts, smart it isn't bless it x

Wonder if I can persuade hubby to use his smart phone, does it cost much to use the app please?

COD is a seasonal regular, always comes out in November.

If the till spits are dated from May 2012, I would guess they were for a similar deal on COD: Black ops 2 which came out November 2012.
I actually bought one of these last year, why did I not think to pre-order and get the points.. duh!

Have you used CC points against a holiday with Virgin before?

Is it against the brochure price though?
yes I used them last year to go to Antigua . I did save points up towards a cruise, but when you tell them they put the price up, so a waste of time on cruises.
virgin however let me take the full value of off the price I seen on the web. (+£30) so its a genuine offer with them. (last year anyway)
for those that don't know - that was one of the 1st (not the 1st) elite meets. I met naebbirac over there. had a great time.
I was jst into the elite then and remember my wife saying. she's got a lot of what you have. :rotfl: have you all got the same stuff? mind you she was an old hand at it then and had loads of stuff, she gave to mrs zippy.
ps I remember what the £30 was for. it was because I done the booking over the phone. but they still honoured the internet price + a bit. as I was getting £990 off the holiday, I thought it was reasonable

Good day yesterday. Got my wedding outfit for niece's wedding ( 1 week before son's. it is a size 14 ( a bit tight) but i was 16-18 3 weeks ago. it was £255.00 down to £29.90 and ladies in shop found me a lovely little bolero for £15.00 that matches perfectly. So now some more weight to be lost in 3 weeks so it is a bit looser. good incentive. DD a bit down last 2 days but thinks it is cause she went out drinking on Sunday and it reacts with her pills. I was worried last night and his all tablets in house again but have calmed down today.
Mum off to specialist tommorow and hopefully plaster off but even so I think she should stay in care home for 1 more week to get used to different zimmer frame. But sure the others will object. We will see.
off to large mr t soon to look for COD slips. Is it a a games case I ma looking for?

The assets you had before your shop were

    £18.33 cash
    £7.83 BM
    Total £26.16

After shopping your assets had become

    all your shopping,
    £9.20 BM,
    £7.10 C/B,
    MBG of £10
    Total £26.30

so you were paid 14p to take away your shopping

This only works because you had the £4.50 off £30.
Thanks AAU, always knew you were the brains behind this operation :D :rotfl:

He can download the Mysuperlist app for free and then it's just within his usual internet costs, nothing extra. It takes a bit of faffing but you can ask on here and someone will guide you if you get stuck. It's super easy to do and you can end up with free or really cheap things. I'm a big fan of it.

just checked my amount... depends how they count a month. If it's a calendar month (1st to 31st), I've been paid £56. If it's a rolling month, i've been paid £65. either way, it's gone over.. eek, didn't realise it was so much tbh.

For those whose friends ;)have signed up, do you get the money paid into the same paypal a/c or a different one?

Either way you have the money in your account now :D so well done! :T
My PP account is looking nice and healthy too :D I'm so glad I still have my Paypal card which is linked to my account, means I can use the money from MSL on glitchy APG shops and more cashback :j
