    Happy Birthday Stan. :beer:

    Not sure about the steak Yoghurt Queen, nearly called you something else then. Did you freeze it as that can affect the fibres if it is frozen for long. I know fillet is more tender than rump. And T bone is between the two.

    Coincidence Mr TS is having steak later, found it in my mum's freezer but had been there for nearly a year, looked a bit worse for wear so he has made a hot curry with it. Slow cooking will have hopefully made it tender.
    Hmm. It could be that I'd frozen it. Most things I buy whoopsied, end up straight in the freezer, and then we use up as time goes by. We have two freezers and all the new stuff goes into one, and then we move stuff out. I feel a bit ashamed to say this, but we've got stuff in the freezer from a year ago! I find that meat is ok. (apart from steak which always seems to take my fillings out, its that tough!), but FISH! Urgh. Last week, we cooked some fish that had been in the freezer for about 13 months. It was disgusting. I did a google search and it turns out, things get freezer burn. I'd not heard that phrase before.

    So a word of warning to all who read this site. Yes! Get your bargains. Get your whoopsies. BUT keep in mind the stuff you buy, and USE it before it spoils! Unlike US!

  • If it was ASDA's own, take the packet back and say you weren't satisfied.

    My partner's currently trying their Rose wine range for free ;)

    Do you think I could do that, even though I bought it whoopsied, and then froze for 2 weeks?

  • I have a steak tenderiser, basically beat the **** out of it before I cook it! I find it a little better if it is frozen too. Any I always grill, use the George Foreman if it is just the two of us.

    Oh. So if you batter it to death so to speak with a wooden or whatever material (we have wooden) battering ram, then you find it isn't chewey? thank you.

    Hello stinky,
    I was sick out of a train window once:eek::eek: not a wise moment :rotfl::rotfl: as a train could have been coming the other way and had my head off :eek: also it all blew back at me :eek::rotfl::rotfl:
    i was 2 sheets to the wind also
    :rotfl: that's so grim :eek::rotfl:
    I honestly could write a book about the states I have got myself in. I once knocked myself out on a tap when I went to chunder in a sink :rotfl:I came to with a mahoosive bruise forming on my forehead.
    Also I discovered alcohol and fair rides are a nasty combo. Never ever go on the waltzer after a drinking session. It gets very messy :o:rotfl:

    I was once at a party in a bar (it was bogof on vodka and red bulls and the bar ran out of vodka before 10 so they switched the offer to whiskey:eek:). I finally got home on the tube (was with OH) and when I took my dress off, I got stuck in the zip. Fell over with an almighty crash, bumped my head and knocked myself out. had an egg shaped lump on my head for ages! :o
    Tiger :cool:

  • I think Arrgggh has spurred me on. I would like to share Stan and I's song with you all.

    I hope this brings back memories for some and for those who have not heard this song before, then lucky you. This is a true masterpiece. It never ceases to cover me in goose bumps.
