He's 11.....will be 12 in a few months. He is very child like in alot of ways, as in he needs looking after more than kids his age,

Head wise, he's more like my Grandad!!! Knows way too much and honestly 'talks' beyond his years!! That's why he makes me :D:rotfl::D:rotfl: I look at a kid and hear an old man :)

Why I was asking as my own DS, who's now coming up to 16 and is off to college in a couple of weeks has always had some strange issues. Myself, members of the family, and in many places take him too have expressed opinions on him being mild end if the spectrum, although the schools he went to were never much support and I had to change his primary schools many times, and spend a period of teaching him at home for about 6 months when he just wasn't coping. I can so relate to what you are saying about talking above his years and sounding like grandad. He used to lecture people about the health risks of smoking, and tell teenagers off for throwing litter down, but fortunately we managed to steer him away from this pretty much by the age you son is now, and thankfully being small for his age, he got away with his antics. :o

I now see him somewhere between your son and savvy. He has done a lot of learning technecs to deal with life when too many things are going off at once in his head. (Even though that can sometimes mean going off on one himself!) When his brain is doing strange things I can talk to him about it and make him realise he has to calm down and separate things. The other night I was reading with interest what savvy was writing, and how much he now understands his own condition. My son, even though obviously at the mild end of the spectrum and without diagnosis, but we defo know there ARE issues, is now learning to understand too.

I hope all this makes sense and I haven't just been waffling.
And Sorry DM, it's a long post so i'm gonna have more to catch up on now, :p which has taken me ages to write, and I will pay for it too as I am using the hand with the trigger finger I should be resting!!!! :(

    Swansea???

    I do like Swansea!

First time I visited America, my mate lived in New Orleans. Turned out to be one of the most fascinating US cities to visit.

Not at all Elsie. That sounds like something you needed to get off your chest, if you don't mind me saying?

The Diagnosis thing isn't an easy one and obviously easier when they are younger ( my DS was 6) Savvy has Aspergers, my DS has ASD......he also has alot of physical problems ( more ASD than Aspergers)

I had absolutely no idea you were going through this Elsie:A. Im more than happy to talk to you about it if you like. By PM if you prefer? Im pretty open about everything but I know not everyone is. Please feel free to chat whenever and however you choose. Ive been lost in this stuff and I know how you feel. Bless you for sharing :A

    Elsie :)

Sorry to hear your not so well lovey :( Ive been iron deficient myself so I sympathise :A

Yes I was at the airshow, it was FAB :)

Did I read you posted pics from the airshow? If so can I be a pain and ask what time that was so I can go back and look. I am gutted we aren;t getting an airshow this year due to lack of funds.... the charge for ours at Lowestoft has always been voluntary and so many people don't donate it as they say they haven't got enough money, but you'd always find them up at the bar or down on the beach with a shed load of cans.

Talking of my DS, even at a very young age, and every year since, always insisted he took his donation money, the right amount, out of his money box to take with him to put in the bucket, even though I don't think they always expected the payments from younger kids. He wouldn't have been able to walk past the buckets without paying.
