Immersion Heater tripped breaker - worry now?

Sometime over the past couple of nights the breaker for my immersion heater has tripped. Its never happened before & I have no idea what might have caused it. I don't know if, as a one off, its something to worry about right away, or wait to see if it continues?
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

I'd be tempted to reset it and see what happens0

Have done so far.
Not sure its working at all now; I assume if the element broke, that'd probably trip the breaker?Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.- Mark TwainArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.0 -
Could be the element or the cabling, a sparky can quickly establish which. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Please clarify whether you mean the MCB (Mini Circuit-Breaker) or RCD (Residual-Current Device) tripped? Or is it a combined RCBO (Residual-current Circuit-Breaker with combined Overload protection)? If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0

Fingers crossed that's what we get; LL seemed to be wanting to send a plumber...Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.- Mark TwainArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.0 -
A plumber cannot establish the cause of it tripping. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I did say to the LL that surely we need a sparks as all of the water is still running. He hasn't said if he's sending one, though.Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.- Mark TwainArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.0 -

Often the element splits causing a short circuit and causing power loss. Alternatively the stat may not be turning off and the thermal cut out is operating you can reset this but a sparky is what you need and best if they bring an element0
