If anyone has an 'episode', at the wheel, that is referred to a doctor/dvla, then DO NOT DRIVE in the meantime, until it has been sorted properly.

Surely if you have an "episode" at the wheel, or not at the wheel, and whether you need to go to the Dr or not, you are obliged to stop driving immediately and inform the DVLA.

I have epilepsy and stopped driving immediately, I also volunteered to surrender my licence. Then after seeing my consultant 12 months after my last seizure he confirmed I was OK to drive. I wrote to the DVLA with all the details and DVLA rules say I can drive at this point, however I decided to wait - despite the fact they will just write to my consultant. It took many, many months - had I been on the road, I will have been no more dangerous than anybody else during that decision making time.

And that's a good example of being responsible for yourself and others. What would the consequences be if something went wrong?

And those that have the myriad of other medical conditions that don't involve "episodes"?

If you have a malignant melanoma (aka skin cancer) you must inform the DVLA - what form of "episodes" of skin cancer do you think you can have?
