Customer compliance interview for undeclared benefits (I think)

Why was a compliance interview given rather than an IUC then?0

No idea. Perhaps they are gathering evidence from you before they go after him.0

Yeah, maybe. I just don't understand why they wouldn't invite him for any kind of interview. I understand why they would interview us both, but not just me.0

As I said, perhaps they are building a case against him before they speak to him in under caution.Yeah, maybe. I just don't understand why they wouldn't invite him for any kind of interview. I understand why they would interview us both, but not just me.
I'm no expert but even with the small amount of information you have given here he sounds guilty as hell. They must have a much bigger picture of the whole situation.
If I was you I would be more concerned as to why my partner felt the need to hide so much money from me. That doesn't sound like someone I'd want to be with.
I guess we could also assume that the DWP already know about the possibility of your other half not declaring the money and are trying to figure out whether you were party to it or not.
Of course this is all guess work based on a few posts. The only people that know for sure are your other half and possibly DWP. Nobody here can give you accurate answers. You will get varying points of view that will only confuse and worry you further. All you can realistically do is wait to hear it from the horses mouth.0 -
At one point while claiming JSA he had £17000. I'm sure they will allow the lawyers fees, as long as he can prove that is where the money went but I'm not sure about driving lessons and a new laptop. If they look at his history they will see he forgot to declare any savings and shares (which they still don't know about) for a single claim and more recently a joint claim.
It does seem that you had no idea he had any savings and how would you know? However now he has told you that he also owns shares you are in a position where you have to tell them otherwise it will look very bad for you.0 -
I have just applied for ESA and HB in my name and I put down his savings details (now I know about them) and they come to around £4,300 roughly. Apparently all his shares are gone now and he only has what is left in his ISA. Sorry, I don't really know how stocks and shares and ISAs work. All I have is a simple bank account which is lucky to have a tenner in it most of the time.
And yeah I think you are right, they could have invited me to the compliance interview in order to get me to get him to fill out the form allowing them to search his ISA details. A24 I think the form was called? I handed it to him when I got home and he filled it out and handed it in on the same day.0
