talk mobile

Has anyone else had problems cancelling a talk mobile contract when it comes to an end. I had two for my daughters and despite several calls to them they refuse to accept that they were advised that we wanted to cancel. They say they have checked their records and cannot trace any calls although they do admit that if their sales team took the instruction, it would nt have been actioned!! How does a customer know who will and who will not action requests for cancellations?? We did not need the pac code as the number did not need transferring...another reason they gave for not actioning my instructions to cancel. One of the contracs was not used for several months as my daughter was given a new phone with contract by her brother. I have always been happy with the service provided by Carphone Warehouse but after recent experience would not recommend them to anyone!!

I have used carphonewarehouse before and would use them again, just because I see somebody post on the internet about a single episode , is not enough to put me off, , I'm sure there is more to your episode than you have posted and hence why your request has not been fully completed as you wish.

No this is a genuine complaint, there is no more to the episode than I have posted. I advised Talk Mobile on at least 6 occasions that the contracts were no longer required. There is a problem when the sales team take instructions but do not pass the information on.Talk Mobile are aware of this.

You could request a PAC number which would start the cancel process but not use it or you could email taylorr@cpwplc.com

Sounds like you were given a PAC and didn't use it?

  • This is precisely why I always deal with this sort of thing either by email or face to face in one of their stores.

Did they ever say to you "yes your contract is cancelled. Your final bill will be on x date".

Because if they never confirmed it or you never allowed them to confirm it then it would never be cancelled.

Also i agree with the poster above who suggests you were given pac's instead of a cancellation.

Why did you have to ring 6 times in the first place? Surely 1 call would have been enough?

you could have written to them and sent it recorded delivery? Thats what I would have done if I'd called them and they hadn't actioned the termination request.

I cancelled mine over the phone, and a colleague did too with no issues - I'm sure there's an option on their lines to 'end your contract' or similar - worked for me with no problems. Can you show that you called them, with dates & times/names etc? I have to say I initially did it in writing to the address in their website T&Cs and it came back as undelivered..

NB a PAC doesn't cancel your contract if it isn't used.
