They applied - they don't say if they received it. I can't speak for E On but I know with SP their form was still up beyond the cut off date.

Why not just pick up the phone and ask the question? All this moaning and they would be able to tell you the answer straight away.

On a side note, you are aware that it is normal to end most sentences with a full stop, not an exclamation mark?

it was a phone call that got me in this situation to begin with! i came on here to see what other people thought/if they knew anything different..from me going on the gov website where the discount actually comes from i expect that information to be correct! as for all this moaning! if thats what you want to call it go ahead im mearly trying to find out what other people think..have been told..and if you dont like how i end my sentences when annoyed and your stupid answers annoying me more then do one!!!! or sorry !.
  • To be honest i agree that the government website is confusing, as others have said providers are able to set an end date for the scheme. I only know BG's one from last year which was officially the end of December.

You could complain officially with E-On and see if they will honor the payment but they have no reason to as the incorrect information is not from them - still worth a go. you could also challenge the government website which is giving out confusing information.

The notes on section 4 are only for the Core group as the government sends the info to the suppliers and there may be discrepancies. The suppliers may either show a cut off date or stop when they reach their target for the Broader group. As has been said already BG closed theirs in December 2012.Some of the others had closed before that.

    Hello!

I moved into my rented property on the 3rd december 2012! I phoned E.on to sign up for them to supply me both my electric and gas!

The call went great and was all done and sorted in about 10 mins!

Towards the end of the phone call I asked the man if I could also sign up for the warm home discount scheme as I had been stopped in my previous town shopping centre a week before I moved and asked by a E.on member if I had signed up for this..as I have a child under 5 and in receipt of income support! I said no as I was still living with my mum and she paid the bills..

The man on the phone told me I was too late to apply for that so that meant I would not get the help towards my winter bills!

I was abit annoyed but thought if I was too late I was too late..end of that..

I since have gone on to apply for this years discount and have been accepted!

    Great!

Today I have been reading about the warm home scheme on various websites and I have read on the direct gov website..which says..

THE DEADLINE TO CLAIM FOR WINTER 2012 TO 2013 WAS 13 MARCH 2013

So if that is the case why was I told I could not apply?

I am even more angry about it all now as I am still paying for my winter 2012 bills now and its going to start getting cold again soon!

The discount would have greatly helped me! and I am disgusted to think i have been lied to like this!

And I think I should get the money credited to my account..am I right in thinking this?

    any help/advice would be great!

I would especially appreciate someone from E.on to come along and explain why this has happened to me and what they will do about it!

The qualifying date for last year's scheme was 21 July 2012. As you were not repsonsible for the bills on that date then you would not qualify. The claim deadline date is not relevant.

The date you have quoted was only for the Core Group. Whoever they were supplied by on that date paid out irrespective of if they had moved supplier. This year it is 20th July.

    Morning a7x4369,

I think there is a bit of confusion here.

If you had applied and been accepted, then you would have received your payment by March 31. This isn't the closing the date.

The only way to see what's gone on is to look in to your account really.

You can apply for this year on the website.
