AVG - What happens if I buy a new computer?

Options
I'm currently running a trial of the full version of AVG 2013, which expires in a few days time.

I'm tempted to buy it, rather than have it downgrade to the free version.

Just one thing I'd like to know first.

If I replace my computer, will I have to buy AVG again, or can I somehow reinstall it to the new computer?

why buy it, the free version still detects viruses, avast free would be my choice. http://www.filehippo.com/download_avast_antivirus/

as long as you make note of the activation code then you would just reinstall on new PC and use the activation code.

to closed. some people dont trust free AV products and paid versions usually have more features.

but why just get an AV, for a few pounds more you can get full internet protection with an Internet Security package.

My PCs are my work tools, so i wont place the free AVs on them as these are free for a reason ( most likely full of ads)

free versions are just as good, the don't trust argument means people waste money, the virus protection is the same, the added features are not necessary.

I use Avast personally myself and don't find it a problem, it is free to download and you just need to sign up.

Normally when you buy a new computer they sometimes throw in a free antivirus trial for a few months anyway (Normally Norton).

not now its usually a 30 day trial of Mcafee. Symantec ( norton) has not provided these for the last 5 years i know of.

My new pc arrived today. The motherboard chipset driver disk has a free 60 day trial of Norton on it (along with various other stuff it annoyingly lists as recommended drivers which aren't drivers).

I am an authorised Symantec VAR and the last i heard on this was they stopped providing these trials to PC manufacturers. I will look through all my newsletters from them in case i missed this.

Edit: Stand Corrected, just found the info in the recent VAR newsletter. They reintroduced a 60 day Trial from Jan. 2013 initially with Dell and Acer.

This is on the chipset driver cd for a Gigabyte H87M-HD3 motherboard. It lists the version as '2013', which clearly isn't a version number but implies its recent.
