Is it worth the hassle of changing networks for a better deal?

Hi!
my mum is currently with 3 and her contract ends in a month...she has been offered 300min, 300 3-3mins, 5000 texts and 250mb data for 16 pounds a month...shopping around, i have found that vodaphone have the same offer (without the 3-3 mins obviously :) ) plus a galaxy tab 2 7" for 17 pounds a month...this is through carphone warehouse...
is it worth going through the hassle of changing networks and transferring her number to get a better deal? Shes been with three for 5 years....If she doesn't like what vodaphone offers her in 2 years time, she will have to shop around again....is it really worth it?
Any help would be appreciated...one month before her contract ends is tomorrow so i need to be able to give 3 an answer then....
Thanks :)

Totally worth it. Based on the price you are looking to spend a month I am assuming that you aren't going for a high spec phone so the speed of 3G you get is gonna be limited anyway. Provided you get signal with your new provider there is no reason not to switch for a better deal. People will likely follow this up with their experiences of customer service with both providers but no providers service is gonna please everyone.

My only other thought is that if CPW can give you a "free" tablet could you not instead look for a lower costing deal without a tablet?

If she is out of contract then she could just get a sim only deal for £15 with 3 for 12 months that would give her.

    All-you-can-eat data
    2000 minutes
    5000 texts
    5000 Three-to-Three minutes & 5000 texts
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.

She has been offered the samsung galaxy ace or nokia lumia 520...i've heard galaxy ace is better though....without the tablet prices are still around 16 pounds for 300 hundred minutes is what she needs....the sim only deals offer her way too much than she wants and needs.....
3 seem to offer the 16pound deal anyway, it doesn't seem to be any different for customer loyalty...

Has anyone had any experience with vodafone? It will be the first time we are with them...what are they like? :)

I would have said the 520 is a better phone of the two tbh. Search Galaxy Ace memory issues. The Ace has already been replaced by the Ace 2 and the Ace 3 is about to launch. The main downsides to the 520 are the flashless camera and some key apps still missing from Windows.

I know of two people who have had the Galaxy Ace and they have both sold them on as they were having major issues with limited memory.

I strongly urge you not to buy one.

Don't forget there are cashback deals available with most companies via Quidco and Topcashback.

How many minutes, texts and data does she really need?

Ovivo (PAYG on voda network) give 150 minutes, 250 texts and 500mb free each month. Is this sufficient?

If so, she can put the £16 she would have paid into a savings account and use it for something really nice. £16*12 moths is nearly £200 per year!

Yes. Seeing as you can get the galaxy Ace on a similar package from other networks for under £10pm then it's totally worth switching.

OP the only other thing is Vodafone's signal aright where you live?
You don't want to get into another contract and find that the VF signal is crap.
