Help with Jobseeker Allowance reconsideration after four week disallowance applied

The reconsideration you submitted via the JCP went to the decision maker, the decision maker notified the benfit centre of their decision they in turn notify you. So, they have reconsidered the decision and that original decision still stands.
My reconsideration was submitted at my local Jobcentre on the 9th August, the letter received about it being looked at again was dated the 8th August.
How could they reconsider the decision a day before id even filled the form in to ask for a reconsideration ?, plus it would only have been posted the 9th august to the dm and not received till early this week.

Dont always post to DM now scan and e-mail is the norm for a recon unless there was evidence to attatch?
It will now go to appeal. Have you applied for hardship?0 -

I attached two emails to the reconsideration form from gumtree which offered evidence that I'd applied for the stipulated vacancies in my looking for work book.
I've not applied for hardship to date, I've looked at the dm guide on the internet and as I don't live alone and have any dependants it looks unlikely that I will be awarded hardship.0 -
^ You don't have to prove you were applying, you have to prove that you LOOKED for work.
You could have looked for work on one day, applied for 6 random jobs that you had no hope of getting and then spend 13 days doing nothing - well, that's how they look at it, in my eyes it should be the amount of jobs you apply for which is assessed but it's not.
It's a technicality which means you can't really do anything about it.

JCP advisers should take into account only productive steps that secure best prospects of seeking employment. Those steps should be so many but they steps shouldbe looked at. Al the steps in one go is not acceptable as a starter. Totally unsuitable jobs is also a no go.
Why should it be the amount of jobs? Some people have lots of transferable skills so they will be applying for many jobs along with many other people. A skilled professional fewer jobs but few people also applying.0 -

See your point.
Do you work for dwp then ?.0 -
First question - how long have you been signing on? Does sound like splitting hairs.
Second question - why on earth are they still asking you to write it in a paper diary? Even the Jobcentre has now caught up with the internet, you can now do it all on the net and save the grief...
Simple answer - YES. They may ask why you didn't produce it in the first place. Still sounds like splitting hairs to me though - I mean the JobCentre splitting hairs not you.SEEKINGINFO wrote: »Basically, I attended the
Now, at the meeting I also stipulated that id applied for nine jobs via gumtree that I'd not written in my looking for work book, at the time I couldnt prove it.
I've now got black and white proof from gumtree in the shape of two emails confirming I'd applied for the stipulated nine jobs.
My question is this, as the nine jobs jobs were not originally stipulated in my looking for work book can I use the evidence of these in my reconsideration ?.0 -
Yes he can submit them, but technically they don't have to accept. You agree that you'll LOOK for work, not APPLY for jobs, under a technicality they're different things. The last time i signed on i was warned because of this and they wouldn't accept email transcripts where i'd emailed my cv to job adverts as proof.First question - how long have you been signing on? Why isn't applying for jobs looking for work ?
How do you prove "looking for work" as opposed to proving "applying for jobs".
Applying for jobs is the main proof of looking for work.
You shouldn't believe everything people tell you.0
