Nuimatic Henry, perhaps with optional power brush or Sebo or Miele.

As you have dogs I'd suggest the "Miele cat and dog"
  • We have a Proaction Pet Upright Cleaner, comes with a turbo brush accessory that is fantastic in picking up pet (1 dog & 1 cat) hairs and the DP's long hair!

Think they cost around £60 in Argos, but we managed to get a brand new one from ebay delivered for £24.

    It's bagless too.

Sorry, can I ask for some advice too? I have wooden floors throughout the whole house apart from the staircases where I have seagrass. What vacuum cleaner would you recommend for me? Thanks
  • Had a cylinder Dyson but now use an ORECK - very light to handle and I think they do a special one for allergens. Picks up well but you do need to maintain it well. ( 3 cats no dogs!)

A cylinder cleaner would be best for you.
  • I have 2 collies and swear by dyson, had 1st one for 7 yrs, and by time it gave up was not as efficient as it was when new. Bought new one last year with hepa filter and it is amazing!

Well I took the bull by the horns this morning and ordered a Sebo X4 Extra from the co-op - suited me cos you can order over the phone rather than online - and a very nice young (?) man it was that took my call.
Could have had it delivered tomorrow but chose Monday!!

I have a collie X and a lab X so it should be a good test for the new machine.

I've had a Dyson DC01 (the original) for more years than I dare say :o and it's been a good friend (and extremely good at it's job), but it's time I laid it to rest as it's very tired now.......
