You must be one of the firm's competitors. That's the problem with forums like this. Alexander JLO and Paul Outhwaite have worked extremely well for me in the past - and I don't get any prize for saying so!0

My only advice would be to go on personal recommendations for conveyancying solicitors - do not follow anything you hear on the internet as you do not know who is posting it / how the forum is being regulated!0

Are UnhappySoRegistering and Fraise and King Street all one and the same. Seems to me that Benjus has it right. Settle this like gentlemen because these posts don't make any sense.0

No we are not one and the same! I don't know them from Adam, and I Am writing as a client of theirs who had a very poor experience with them. I have all the proof too, including emails which I am happy to put up here.
Maybe you were just fortunate when using them, or maybe you have a vested interest in trying to make out people are lying when they say how bad their service was.
I have no need to lie, so stop making ludicrous accusations.0 -

Who is most likely to be working for the firm / the firms' competitors?0 -

Same for the post above.
One post? Someone registers to slag off a firm? Hmmm. Personally, I'd ignore, but up to whoever may find this thread at a later date.

I am happy to hold my hand up and admit I registered to complain about the firm as was having such a frustrating time with them.
My posts were repeatedly removed so i will try and give a balanced account of my experience.
First of all - my house purchase went through so it can't be said they didn't do their job! The whole process took about 3 months. Paul was a nice enough chappy and enjoyed meeting with him on the few times we traveled to Canary Wharf. However....
My single biggest complaint was that it was nigh on possible to get hold of him of him on the phone. The Alexander JLO desk is impenetrable! I never once got through it - they always ask who is calling and then apologise that no-one is at the desk at any point of the day. Paul will reply to emails but usually this is one word and so during the whole process it is difficult to gauge what is happening.
As a plus - They were quite well priced and as someone else says there were no hidden charges etc. Things were explained and upfront which i must commend.
In general the process did take a long time but i'm not sure that it can be entirely blamed on them as the estate agents were extremely useless.
I guess my own review would be if you want the job done they did do that for me. I would say however their general customer service needs a touch (perhaps already done).
Next time I would probably opt to pay a little bit extra to have someone on the end of a phone to answer queries. I understand there is a balance to doing work and dealing with customers but maybe the balance is to hire some extra interns!
As said would ask around with friends for good conveyancing solicitors and don't go off the estate agents recommended list0 -

You need to lighten up a bit, mate.
It's pretty common on the internet that threads which are critical of particular firms attract first time posters who come along only to praise the firm in question.
The term used in Las Vegas is "shill." They are people planted by the casinos to prevent a table being empty, but who gamble house money and have nothing to lose.
As you will see from the emoticons, my "Morning, Paul" quip was very tongue in cheek.I am a mortgage broker.
