Sky Plus box - Free sat

Just looking to see if anyone knows anything about sky and freesat from sky.

I've got a Sky HD box downstairs and one bedroom and the sky plus box that was in the bedroom moved into the other bedroom, so ive got recordings from channel 4 and itv2 on the sky plus box which i thought i would still have but i have been advised i as i didnt take the multi room subscription for that box i wont be able to access it.

So an additional £10 per month for a viewing card and record able/play back functions

£11.25 for the full package as in the other rooms with full functionality.

but i see on ebay you can buy sky viewing cards and i was wondering if that would let me have record able/play back functions.

Does anyone know????

No, you need an active sub to access the existing recordings and use the PVR functions.
You do not require a viewing card to get the bulk of the !!!!!! channels.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

so an active sub on that box or just with sky as i have an subscription and only want to be able to record and play back the free stuff, if i cant then i'm probably better changing that from a sky box to a freesat box that records?! but i dont know if that would work

Yes you're better getting a Freesat box - You've got a Sky sub and want to use 2 boxes, and, critically, record with both of them. Sky will want a multiroom subscription off you for that privilege...
