Toyota cars are really good value. and they are very cheap to fix. I have asked few garages they said Toyota been doing hybrid since the 90's dont worry the hybrid system will last for 10 years. When i took it from the dealer said we sold this car brand new with 3 years warranty and now after 6 years we still give you 3 years warranty.
I drive yaris that 14 years old and i drive it everyday for 30 miles motorways cities and i dont spend more than 150 maintenance a year on it. Toyota cars made to last. They are not luxury but value for money.0 -

You'll never get double 30MPG out of it, plus even if you did that's only £5k of fuel not £6k.
Get a 50MPG diesel for a few grand and save the rest.0 -

Fuel cost is typically only a portion of the overall running cost. Tax, insurance, maintenance and depreciation make up a significant part too. Of course, getting more MPG helps, but it us by no means the only factor to consider.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. 60MPG out of a Toyota Hybrid? Should be achievable to be honest- my Auris is running at 62mpg average at the moment without trying.0 -

No you're right, not 60mpg... I'm getting 73mpg out of the Yaris hybrid over a tankful - like the poster above with the Auris hybrid, that's without trying.
Given that 90% of my driving is in the Greater London area (so a mix of 30/40/50mph with traffic lights and roundabouts a plenty) a diesel probably wouldn't be a fantastic ideaOh and I get about 55mpg at 70mph on the motorway which isn't bad at all for a 1.5l petrol engine.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, a hybrid is just an extra option for people to consider but it won't suit everybody. It's the same with diesel. There's no one size fits allNow free from the incompetence of vodafail0
