Loveadove, so nice of you to comment, you weren't waffling at all!
It's a big relief to get it all out in the open so to speak, I feel like the weight is much more manageable. You're right though, as long as I made minimal payments and 'survived' I didn't care. Couldn't be further from how I am feeling now.
Ellerose-12 months is an impressive timescale! My loan is for 5 years, I think the earliest I will complete on is 4 years. That's if nothing creeps up and I can use the money I've saved each month towards the loan.
I couldn't do 11-18...eeeek!! XxxMotivated to clear my debt and enjoy life at the same time!! DREAMS DO COME TRUE

Hi guys!
I'm feeling pretty emotional today as it is exactly a year since I broke up with my ex, i don't miss him, in fact I don't think I ever have since we split. I just can't believe how much my life has changed and how much healthier, stronger and better I am as a person. I am in such a better place and I wish I could have jumped back and screamed at myself to end the relationship sooner rather than dragging out the torment and abuse. I will never put myself through that again or let anyone close to me go through that.
So, changing the subject massively...my weekend has been pretty awesome. I went out on friday on a social i organised (i joined a socialising website to meet new people) and as i was the host i wangled a load of free shots/drinks and spent half the amount i do normally on a night out!
the following day my gorgeous boyfriend and i went to an all you can eat chinese as a treat (£6.99 and i had a tap water) and then we got to go and see Monsters University for free, courtesy of Tesco Clubcard
(must see film by the way!!)
Then today I woke up at 8am cleaned the flat, went for a £1.50 coffee in Starbucks and did a food shop at the bargain price of £12 (this will last us until Tuesday lunch when I go back home to Devon) PLUS we got a super deal on carte noire posh coffee....10 sachets for 50p, half price! Plus my favourite tea (lady grey) had money off too! Woohoo!
I also took another extreme money saving measure and wrapped up all of my friends birthday presents from now until December (when I'm next home) to save on postage, may seem extreme, but that's 4 friends and my friends boy, plus my brother! That's a HUGE saving in postage!!
Feeling really motivated too, so fingers crossed it stays that way. The big test will be when I'm back home and not so much in control. I don't want my nearest and dearest to know my debt situation. They think I'm trying to 'save' which is why I'm not coming home so much. Think it's best for my sanity that they think that, can't bear for anyone else close to me to know the situation I got myself into, that and the fact my dad would KILL my ex and I don't want my dad to end up in jail!!! :S
I've made some plans to save money where I can (meals in at my mums each night) and made sure our days out with friends are walks or cups of teas around friends house rather than eating out. Here's hoping it will be successful, I'm using my tutoring money to pay for it, so fingers crossed i have enough!!
I'll update you all on how it went this time next week, I may have time to update mid week, but I promise I'll let you know how it went when I'm back in Wales
Wish me luck!

From one miss to another, good luck my lovely. Love can be a major pain sometimes and it's nice to see that even though it's kicked the sh*t out of you for a bit, it's now time for YOU. Cutting a very long story short, I stayed with Div No1 for 17 years, then Div No 2 for 3 years before realising how stupid things were. Like you, I didn't recognise myself or understand why I was putting up with things. E.g. My boiler broke down and I had no hot water or heating for 7 weeks (during that really bad winter a couple of years ago). The kids dad (Div No 1) gave me the phone number for a cheap plumber, and Div No 2 (who earns over £60k a year, has 3 cars, and 3 houses and masses of cash in the bank) wouldn't lend me the money either. That's when the penny dropped - knowing that money was more important than keeping me (who he was supposed to love) and my beloved children (who he also reported to love) warm and clean. Anyway, I now have find the man of my dreams and am also a teacher (16-18), have over 18k debt and I wish you all the good luck in the world on your debt-free journey. x0

Thanks miss empty piggy. Although sad, it's reassuring I'm not the only one who has dated divs!
