GF stole money to pay Wonga.

You need to report the theft to your bank and the police to get the money back. This will obviously have implications for your relationship, but I imagine the trust is gone anyway. If she is still staying at the house I would hide or lock away all your financial details.0

I am rather annoyed about this, to put it mildly.
Is it even remotely possible I can get this money back from Wonga.
This happened last year with £350 and they basically said "Tough cheddar - it's our money now!"
I have cancelled my bank card btw.
Are you saying she forged your details on some documents, because I cannot believe that any company will simply take money from any old bank account that they've been given the account number and sort code of?
Quite frankly, I'm not sure I actually believe the OP. And, even stranger, why has someone thanked him for the post?0 -
Having never dealt with Wonga (or any such organisation) I'm surprised they can legally access an account which is not in the borrower's name.
The fact that they have the sort code & account no. for the account doesn't prove any authorisation to access the account, nor does a debit card no. if it wasn't given to them by the card holder - unless your GF has a debit card in HER name to access the account.
If she has given them your account details without your permission & they have accessed an account which is in YOUR sole name without asking you, then I believe they are in the wrong. In your shoes (assuming GF doesn't have reason to believe she has access to your account, such as her own card for it), I would contact Citizens advice or trading standards and ask for their help.
You might also do well to talk to your bank about this (they may well insist you report the matter to the police).I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.

When you apply for pay day loans they take the card details for repayment and take it back on an agreed date.
This means that either:
She's set up the entire thing using your card and now they've taken the payment.
She's behind on payments and has given them the details for taking the lump sum out.
Either way i'd be slinging her out and ringing the police. You're obviously not in a situation where you're 'together' in every sense of the word, as you see your debts as separate, so i would deffo report her for it.

if she was behind they will take any active accounts details with cash in from a debter to reclaim the money not caring for whom the account belongs to aslong as the fat payday comes in they would rather deal with repurcussions later.
"i have my OH card will that be ok"

wow, thanks for the responses. I've called natwest and got them to kill the CPA and block any future payments to those scumbags at wonga.0

Did she steal the money, or did Wonga take it off your card?
What I mean is, have you paid Wonga on her behalf before? They have been know to use other peoples cards to clear a debt once its gone unpaid.
I'd clarify this before calling the police etc0 -
This is definitely a real post, I really wish it wasn't but this is my life.0

There's no way they should be able to take money from another persons account other than the borrower.0
