flight compensation claim 2006

Hi,
This is my first post so bare with me.
according to mse you should be able to claim as far back as 2005. I have proof of delay and our being on board for 2 flights in 2006. i communicated with both airlines concerned and was quoted the warsaw convention and couldnt go back more than than 2 years. not to be deterred i contacted CAA with all my info and have been told by them i cannot go back past 2007. whats the truth????

You are subject to a six year limitation period, so 2007 is (currently) the cut off point.0

All in the FAQs...you can indeed submit a claim to the airline going back to 2005 BUT as they know you can do nothing when they ignore or reject you so they are not going to pay out0
