Do you smoke the tofu yourself or if not where do you get it from? I have only tried making it once and it didn't go that well.

No, I bought it - it was on SO in W8rose, so I thought I'd treat myself. I'd never thought of smoking my own - there's an interesting thought.
Back after a very long break!
  • S - Beef stroganoff with pasta
    M - Chicken Burgers
T - Sweet and sour pork
    W - HM salmon fishcases
    T - Broccoli & blue cheese gnocci
    F - Fish tagine
S - Takeaway of some description
  • Would be interested in these two please. i make a Moroccan chickpea stew, so wondering if your chickpea harrisa stew is similar :)

    TIA

PS Haven't done my plan yet

Posted about the risotto earlier in this thread :)

    The stew:
Fry a red onion, a sliced red pepper (or a handful of mixed sliced peppers from the freezer!), 2 garlic cloves and a handful of sliced mushrooms, until soft. Add 2-3tbsp of harissa and fry for just 30 secs or so. Add a tin of chickpeas (or equivelant rehydrated from dry), a tin of chopped toms and 500ml veg stock. Simmer for 15-20 minutes. Season, add fresh chopped coriander if you fancy. I like this with plain boiled rice :) You can of course use any other veggies, etc that you fancy in it!

Apparently you can smoke it with green tea so you don't need woodchips or anything, which is the method I tried. I think I over smoked mine though.

Change of plans. We decided that as us and the couple we were going to go out for dinner with are pretty skint, they're coming over here instead for Italian food that will probably be just as nice as going out and a lot cheaper!

M - Potato skins with dip followed by Cheese, Tomato & Spinach Gnocchi Bake
    T - Bean Casserole & Herb Dumplings
W - HM pitta bread, nand0s copycat red pepper dip, carrot and kidney bean burgers, wedges
T - Red Lentil Bolognese & HM pasta or rice (depends how tired I am!)
    F - Chickpea-Harissa Stew & pilau rice
    S - Spinach, Carrot & Orange Long-grain Rice Rissoto
    S - Veggie Chilli & Rice
