I'm now really excited that the Victoria Wood's adaptation is on telly again:

Housewife, 49 on ITV1 on Friday. 8.30pm - 10.30pm.

Those of us who have read or would like to read "Nella Last's War", the film is based on the book and has great reviews.

Nella last was a housewife who kept a journal as part of the Mass Observation project which took place during World War 2. Ordinary people were asked to keep journals on all aspects of their everyday life.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book when I read it a few years ago, and will sit down with a cuppa to enjoy the film at 8.30.

Great film - Victoria Wood is a National Treasure 12_1_220.gif And David Threlfall from Shameless is completely unrecognisable:

I second that, dont think I've ever seen anything of hers that I didnt like.

Housewife, 49 is really good, I enjoyed it just as much at the second watching last night as I did first time around.
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D
