    willy worry - I can see why you chose your nom de plume!

    As said previously, pity you didn't come here earlier, but you are where you are. You're too far down the road to do anything other than continue to ignore.

    What you mustn't ignore are any real court papers. If any arrive (likely originator Northampton court) then get back to us for further specific advice.

    Debt collectors can only write to you (possibly phone you), but nothing else. So - court papers, come back, if you need future reassurance, come back, anything else - ignore!

    Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

    I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Some do. But I suspect that they are waiting to see how Parking Eye and a couple of the other companies get on in court before deciding to follow their lead and issue more court papers.

    Pretty much 99% of people for many years, when the OLD advice was to ignore these fake PCNs. I have had 3 of them myself from other PPCs over recent years and nothing happened except hysterical debt collector letters every couple of months for a year. It was fun ignoring them but now the advice is different. Next time, laugh at the yellow envelope (it's not dreaded if it comes from a private scammer!) and be more proactive, coming here to read up on appeal wording in time.

    I would normally now suggest complaining to the managers who contracted with PCM, but you will get no sympathy from the managing agent of Meadowhall...even though we do know of a case where they had to pay compensation for the actions of PCM. In your case you'd be wasting your time, I know.
    PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Heard nothing...yet. Don't know if this is a good thing or not...only time will tell I suppose.
  • Spoke too soon, got another letter today;

    "Dear Sir/madam

    We are disappointed to note that upon checking our records you have failed to contact our office and arrange payment of your outstanding debt.

    As a company specializing in debt recovery we are undertaking to gain payment in full of the debt.

    We would like to provide you with a final opportunity to pay the debt. Subsequent failure to clear the amount in full may result in the debt being taken to court.

    To avoid this distressing course of action contact (number removed) immediately.

    Yours faithfully

    Newlyn Debt Collection Ltd"

    So, what do you all think of that? Another shallow threatening letter?

    I bet they are disappointed, just ignore them
    When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
    We don't need the following to help you.
    Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

    Yep ignore. Only courts can declare what is or is not a debt, not them. Only respond if you get a Letter Before Action/real court papers.
  • Thanks guys.
  • Todays letter;

    " Dear Sir/madam

    We are instructed to recover the above sum, arising from a parking charge notice issued by our clients Parking Control Management (UK) ltd.

    You are formally advised that unless the payment is received within 14 days, proceedings will be initiated in the county court where a judgment may be obtained. The county court judgement (CCJ) may then be enforced by a court appointed bailiff which will incur substantial costs. It is therefore in your interest to pay immediately.

    If you are unable to meet the above request or should you wish to make a short term arrangement to clear the account, please contact our office on 01604 ****** immediately.

    Yours faithfully

    Newlyn Debt Collection Ltd"

    So do I just keep ignoring? When will they get fed up with sending them?
