NIP Received for Speeding Offence!
Options
Hi guys
I was caught speeding by an unmarked car in North Wales on 14/01/07. Stupidly I was doing 82 in a 50. It was on the A55 (Colwyn Bay) where the speed limit keeps changing from a 70 to a 50.
Today I have received a summons to appear at Wales Court on 28th June.
I just wondered if anyone could offer me any advice.
The Summons was not sent recorded delivery or anything, it just arrived as normal post. Does this make any difference?
Does anyone have any idea of the likely punishment?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

 The only advise I can offer is don't speed. 82 in a 50 is well over the speed, especially on an A road0

I always thought that if you are speeding more than 30mph over the maximum limit, it's an instant ban.

No such thing as an instant ban, though it's an almost certain ban when the OP gets to court.
As for the OP's question, it makes no difference how the summons was received, it's perfectly valid. You're almost certain to get a ban unless you have a very strong hardship case, in which case you may want to engage a solicitor to put the case for you.
Otherwise, don't drive to the court as you're unlikely to be able to drive away again. What goes around - comes around0 -
Does it always take so long betwwen the offense and the court date. It seems a long time to hang over you.0

60 in a 30 limit, 100 in a NSL.0 -
As someone said there is no such thing as an instant ban, my mate got done at 96 in a 40 and thought he was certain to get a ban and drove away with a big fine!
