MSE News: Lloyds and TSB to split: what it means for you

If C&G is moving away from Lloyds, what will happen to my online morgage statement as I will remain a Lloyds customer? Will it disappear from my online banking?
Most C&G mortgages are remaining with Lloyds. My understanding is that it's only C&G mortgages sold through C&G branches that are moving to the new TSB brand. If you're in that group then I assume you'll need a different log on through the new bank for your mortgage.comping_cat wrote: »What happens if anyone has LloydsTSB shares?
Nothing will happen to them. They're selling part of the business in the same way that they've sold their Spanish business, their share in Sainsburys Bank etc.0 -
My moms still got the original TSB card holder at home they used to supply you with when you opened an account.
A job lot of these card holders from the original TSB were being sold on ebay a while back. If I remember rightly they went for quite a bit considering they were freely given out in the branch back in the day. Retrobanking I guess.0 -
I may be showing my age but i remember when they were separate banks. So not really a new thing0

HBOS doesn't and never had a banking licence.
The article does imply that Lloyds, Halifax and BOS will all use a single banking licence?!
Just poorly written. It's separate from Lloyds TSB Bank plc, and Bank of Scotland plc (which includes the Halifax) has a different banking licence to Lloyds TSB Bank, but they are all subsidiaries of Lloyds Banking Group plc. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. It makes no sense for them to have one banking licence - people who have over £85k will move monies out to rivals.
Lloyds Halifax and the new TSB when floated will have separate licences so you could if you are lucky enough to have funds have £85k in all of them if you want.0
