Court letter - "A bar on judgement.enforcement is in place"

Hello

I recently went through the process to reclaim some £227 from LloydsTSB in charges, and got as far as asking for a judgement following the bank's non response to the claim through Money Claims Online.

I subsequently received a letter from the court stating that my request for judgement had been rejected for the following reason.

"A BAR ON JUDGEMENT/ENFORCEMENT IS IN PLACE"
Does anyone have any idea what this means to me, and what should I do now?

It sounds like Lloyds TSB are trying to get all judgements against them "on hold" until the case in Birmingham goes to appeal.

If so, it would delay all our claims at court stage, while their solicitors catch up with the backlog of defences in the meantime. Neat trick.

Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.
  • Thanks for that Kurt. Is this happening to anyone else?

Tried to issue a judgement via MCOL earlier in the week and got a letter today saying:

Your request for judgement has been rejected because:
A bar on judgement/enforcement is in place

It doesn't say anything else! Anyone know what this is and why it happened, and what to do next?

    I'm quite worried now!

Its possible that your case has received a late defence from the bank and is going to be transferred to your local court. You should ring the court to find out for sure exactly what is happening in your particular cases.
