The only way is to free the internal memory by deleting unneeded texts and apps or moving them to the SD card.

This phone is notorious for small memory. AFAIK, custom ROMs might allow moving bigger number of apps to the card or even increasing the internal memory by partitioning the card.
  • hi thanks for your reply
i have moved all the apps to the card that are movable and it still wont download anything surely if i have 29.80MB left on the internal storage i should be able to save a 1MB app ? but this wont work :(

i will have a look into custom ROMs now and see if that helps .
wish i had never got the phone now i don't see why it has a 4GB memory card with it if i does not let you download to it .

Old Android phones have this problem. It won't let you put most apps on the memory card and there isn't much internal space. It's made worse by the fact that pre-installed apps never go away, so if it came with Facebook and you update the Facebook app then you'll have both the updated version and the original one hidden away taking up space.

The only real solution is a custom ROM which uses a partition on the SD card as though it was internal space. It's not mega complicated to do but it is possible to break the phone so be careful. XDA Developers is a great place to start.
