Hi folks
Guess who overdid it yesterday – oops.
Between us, Mr LW and I stoned 6 lb of cherries (that was the final weight with the stones out, btw). I think I actually did two thirds of them, because I was using the proper cherry-stoner, he was managing with a skewer.:D Jam has now been made – I just need to make some labels for the jars, which will wait til I next switch the XP pc on (probably tomorrow for my weekly accounts back-up), as that's the machine my printer's connected to. But today my shoulders are stiffer than a stiff thing!
Anyways, I'm still catching up with the tail end of yesterday's thread.....
Butterfly many thanks for the sausage & broccoli bake recipe – I've snagged it and put it on my Recipes & Crafts flash drive. Cheese sauce is one of my specialities (I use the extra extra mature Cheddar from the farmers market) so that'll be our sauce of choice, methinks.;)
Ooh, and your poor toesies – you mention a nail growing back; I take it the nails are supposed to be gone for good, then? It all sounds very unpleasant, and I hope to goodness you heal soon.
Glitterkitty I love the sound of your new signs – I have one in my kitchen (present from one of Mr LW's pals) that says “Dogs welcome; children must be kept on a lead at all times”.:D
Judi if you're an official grump, then I must be a fire-breathing dragon! :eek:I've never used vinegar on my face, but I do use it for removing canine nose-art from the windows. Horses for courses.....:o
Redruby ouchie! Gentle (((HUG))) and GWS wishes. Sprains can be devilish painful.
Hester if your body is telling you to sleep, listen to it. And look at it this way – the more time you spend dreaming about Hestering (I'm assuming that's had to be curtailed a tad for now) the less time you sit feeling cross that you can't do all the things you want to, and the quicker you'll heal.:o I hope that made some kind of sense.
Ooh, Molly's birthday, is it? Hoppy Birdday, mate.
Sunshine good to see you posting. There's a pm in your inbox, if you've not seen it already.:o
NAR I'd give you a date, but they haven't had any at the fruit'n'veg market lately. :DOh, sorry, wrong sort of date. I'll get my coat.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hello everyone,
Molly Happy Birthday, hope its a lovely one.
Welcome Sunshine :hello:
Tibawo- hope your eye appointment goes ok. My Dad used to take me to watch our local team from about 12 years, and I still go to this day.Having had 2 sons we also did the Sunday morning scene
Been a bit rubbish at postingthis week. Yesterday I met my niece at the Traffordcentre and we had lunch which was very nice, apart from having an upset stomach at bedtime
.Went in the spare room so I didnt disturb DH going to the bathroom.Seems ok today though.I only bought 2 reels of thread and a ball of wool for the blanket I'm crotcheting for DGBump.DH was very surprised.
My brother has just gone ,he brought my niece (9) and his DGS 17 months.Big niece (my other brothers DD) came with DGN too so it was a bit hectic especially when little niece wanted to bake buns. She says she wants to be like her Daddy & me- good at cooking :rotfl: Anyway we made 30 buns and divided the spoils-unequally I might add in her favour.Used Delias all in one sponge recipe,& very nice they are too.Just having a bit of peace before DGD arrives.
Tea is fish and chips from the freezer, not very OSbut quick and easy with DGD coming.
I'm another who tends to post only on here, except like LW if I can answer a specific question, though I do read lots of others...but its nice here
RR-hope you recover from your fall soon.I tripped in a pothole a few weeks ago and my ankle was sore for ages.
HH-slowly does it,hope you and the other poorlies feel better soon.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon all,
Happy birthday Molly!
Nothing much to report today, first day of annual leave and I've already had a couple of messages from them *rolls eyes*
Been to Meadowhall in Sheffield; ended up buying nothing except rennies but that's OK by me. Then we popped to ASDA for a couple of bits and saw one of bf's mum's friends as she works in the travel agents inside our ASDA. We also both got some euros for our trip :-)
Washing machine on with some whites. I'm trying to get some strange marks out of One of bf's kit tops so treated it with vanish but for some reason its turned three of my fingertips white! I don't think the marks will come out but it's not so bad as they are all getting new kit next week!
Bf bought us lunch at meadowhell so may not eat tea until a bit later but not sure what it will be!
Got the following jobs I'm wanting to get done tonight:
*get us both almost 100% packed for Belgium so we have less to do tomorrow
*clean bathroom
*iron/fold and put away all clean laundry
Then tomorrow night I want to vac, and wash the filters in the vacuum so they can dry whilst we are away, change the bed and get the kitchen squared up.
That way on Saturday morning I should just need to straighten all the rooms, Spend some quality time with pup and double check I have everything I need to take to the parents after lunchtime.
Making my infinity dress tomorrow so will be able to let you all know how that goes too :-)************************************

Welcome Sunshine,
I have athritis in my knees, I'm guessing in other places too but its only recently been diagnosed, you are more than welcome, everyone is lovely here.
On the subject of being OS I found a ten pound note down the back of the couch this morning. Now the OS thing to do would have been to save it.
Instead dh and I have treated ourselves to one of MR T's meals for a tenner  main course, side, pud and a bottle of wine. Feeling so rubbish just now felt we deserved a little treat and I don't care today so there:p
Hubby is outside checking the traps, hoping he doesn't find anything!
NAR everyone is a secret Man United fan deep down:rotfl:
LW I love cherries, saw a nice recipe for cherry crumble yesterday but they do seem to be expensive in the shops.
Off to cook my non OS dinner:DStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Julie it's a tenner you didn't know you had, so using it for a treat is perfectly logical, specially if it'll bring a bit of pleasure into your life. We've got the 2nd half of the lasagne I made yesterday, but with choccie mousse to follow (ate the last of the cherry crumble yesterday).:o All I ever find down the back of my sofa is dog-hair, btw - and I've yet to find a supermarket that accepts that as currency.:rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Happy Birthday Molly....sorry I am late with the greeting, but today has been very tiring.
LW you are very welcomeThe nail bed was supposed to be chemically killed off, but they can't do anything now until the toes are completely healed. It really is dragging on now. I had the op on May 16th and it is still bothersome
We had an hour's drive to the hospital then a forty minute wait and I saw the registrar, who then sent me for an x-raythat was another hour's wait, then back to the registrar followed by an hour's drive home. I have to go back in 6 months they want to wait and see what the spine doctor says, I just feel like I am in limbo now :wall: :wall:
But we had good news Dniece came home from hospital today, so that is brilliant
I am off to bed in a little while so sweet dreams all xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
