Hold on... aren't you doing the same thing yourself here?

I do a very technical job at work, but much of my time is spent in an office in front of a PC.

    So am I technical, or a pencil-sharpener?

    What do you think?

I do a very technical job, but sit at a desk most of the day listening to idiots drone on about stuff they know nothing about.
Idiots who because my job title is "engineer" try to look down on me and try to talk to me like i'm the office Chai Wallah.

I quietly do my job, whilst they never shut up and they assume that quiet = stupid and loud/obnoxious = intelligent. They've mostly learnt not to fk with me though, they make the p1ss sometimes, but they all know im dangerous when stepped on.

    I don't have a 'desk'....or a permanently-attached-to-right-wrist computer.

I also deal with 'experts'....especially those who cannot comprehend that they may be dealing with an expert too.

I find an enormous amount of misinformation bubbling out of those 'experts'....dunno where they got it all from?

I used to deliver evidence to prove my point..nowadays I just cannot be bothered.....I care not how many millions of taxpayers money my silence doesn't save.

My colleagues feel the same......some would say, we have been 'brow-beaten' into silence. Others would say, we are just getting older, and more cynical.

The trouble with 'new' expertise is, it often comes hand-in-glove with insatiable egos. People constantly feeling they have to 'prove' how much of an expert they are.
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......

do they let people buy cars, I have just read 3 threads on here and think that the people are too dumb to be allowed to own a vehicle, and thats just on the first page:mad:

Different people have different skills - just because they appear dumb based upon car knowledge does not mean they are dumb in general.

That said, there should definitely be an Electrocute button next to the Thanks button, for people who cannot use forums.
