So after you sent £200 and no car, you sent the over 3.8k?
What was the car and how much cheaper was it than usual?0 -
No sent 4k upfront!!! don't know why I'm replying to you:mad: why be so negative to me bloody hell have u never made a mistake!!!!0

Thanks for the link thenudeone that's exactly what has happened0

I asked a question to establish the facts.
What was negative? You said scammed out of 4k but the post read as you paid £200.
I ask about the car and price to highlight the fact that these cars are priced very cheaply and only usually have an email address. It helps identify them as scams.
But hey, it's easier to shout down the people trying to give a full picture.0 -
John,
the OP postedhe had to pay upfront and pay £200 for the shipping
So it was in the opening post although I did read it twice to check. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

no doubt they have, probably just not one as bad as this.
my name is Mr pertel , send me some moneyz to my account in Nigeria and ill help you get your £4000 back.0 -
Be gentle, she's no doubt feeling very embarrassed already.
My father was taken in by con men. I know from his experience that they built up trust and a relationship with him over a period of time. They gave him things to check. Everything seemed plausible. It is only when you look back and compress something that probably went on over a period of time into a few sentences that it now seems so obviously a con.
These crooks are very convincing. Most of us want to be trusting and want to believe we are getting a good deal.0 -
Unless it is something uber rare, there will be another one down the road/round the corner you can touch, feel, drive before handing over the hard earned.
The problem with the car around the corner that you can touch and feel is that it isn't a quarter of the price it should be!
I'm sorry to say, but I have very little sympathy, it's pure and simple greed. And that my son, is how to waft a towel!0 -
The OP says all checks were carried out on the vehicle, it all checked out OK, emails were legit, but didn't check out the 3rd party shipping company at all?
In hindsight - clear, in reality blurred. My partner got an email from the Co-op bank the other day, 1 we dont bank with them, 2 it was badly mis-spelled. If a deal looks good, and all legit looking, then anyone can be taken. My partner (dyslexic), so didn't spot the spelling only brought it to my attention because it ain't our bank!0 -
