I received my itemised bill today, I have 100 minutes per month and I am generally a low user. A member of my family has unlimited texts and unlimited minutes and she generally phones me back when I ring her.
My bill is itemised in seconds on my bill, but when I queried my bill, I was 120 seconds over the 100 mins last month and expected to be charged for these calls, I was told by the operator that each call is charged by the minute. So if I make a 3 second call, I am using up 60 seconds of my bundle. That has never been explained to me before and my calls on my bill are itemised to the second, not rounded up to the nearest minute.
Id just like to know if this is standard procedure and why, if you round all calls up to the nearest 60 seconds, why that isnt reflected on the itemised bills.
So for making 102 minutes worth of calls on a bundle that is 100 minutes, Ive been charged an extra £32 in call charges.
Due to the rounding up of calls I made, Ive been charged an extra 10 minutes worth of call charges.
This may be standard practice but Ive been with vodafone for 3 years now and today is the first time that an operator has told me this.

All calls are subject to a one minute minimum duration, after the first minute, you are charged by the second.
If you make a five second calls, one minute comes off your allowance.
If you look at the T & C's, you will find this mentioned.
It would be a lot cheaper to increase your allowance or if you have a text allowance, send a text asking to be called.0 -
I am going to increase my allowance. In fact Ive found a 24 pound a month 2 year contract for an Iphone that will give me unlimited texts and minutes, so that wont happen again.
It wont happen again. Ive never gone over my allotted minutes before but last month was extremely stressful on a lot of levels and I made many more calls than I normally would have.
If Id known that a 3 second call was rounded up to a minute, I would have texted instead.0
