Air Europa Flight Delay Claim

Hi,
has anyone posted a claim with Air Europa?
In March i was returning from Peru, had checked in and boarded the plane and then sat there for 2.5 hours to be told we had to get off due to a technical fault. We then re-boarded an hour or so later and set off approx 3.5 hours late. This resulted in me landing late and missing my connection flight (also with Air Europa and part of one single booking Lima - London). Air Europa then told me the earliest flight they could put me on was at 4pm that day (should have been 7am) resulting in me missing a full days work at great expense and having to take additional leave which I did not have. Total delay was approx 7-8 hours.
I have called (no answer/ no one available to help) sent emails and letters to Air Europa directly and heard nothing (this was in May). I have since sent a claim through the Spanish AESA however this has now been 7 weeks with nothing other then a receipt of my claim.
I am not sure what to do now? I have provided them with all documents required. Is there anyone else I can claim to? Has anyone managed to successfully claim from a Spanish airline?
Many Thanks
