    Hi everyone

Just popping in to say hi. I am new to MSing. So far I have signed up with MF and done half a dozen assignments, all fairly straightforward.

I've read the tips on the first page of this thread, but any further tips are appreciated. Regarding tax, do you actually have to register self-employed, or can you just declare the income on your tax return at the end of the year (which I already fill in anyway due to other misc income)?
You need to register as self employed but you can then fill out a form straight away so you don't have to pay any NI contributions due to your self employment.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
  • Blummin 'eck, more of my phone shops have moved, to dates I can't do them.

Here's a tip if you're reading this TNS, and you can have this one for free: if you must have shoppers visiting on three different dates during a reasonably lengthy fieldwork period, how's about SPLITTING IT INTO THREE SHORTER WAVES???

    Jesus wept. :p

I don't mind waiting if I know it's coming but when an allocator doesn't reply to emails I get nervous.

I've been paid for all of my visits and mileage. It's almost a one man operation and he is struggling to keep up with everything. I've worked for them for over a year now on a regular project and I've always been paid, albeit a little slowly.

Is anyone else having issues in login to the GAP site? The button seems to no longer work.

No problems with logging in but they're now having fun continually e-mailing me, reminding me to make sure I express my outstanding reports. Wouldn't mind but I've submitted them all and have no outstanding assignments

Yep, same here. And I noticed something strange this week - I'm not alone on Sundays, so I don't ever accept work for a Sunday morning. Yet twice this week, I've seen jobs which I had in my diary as weekdays suddenly showing on GAP as Sundays. I'm sure they've been changed. Add that to the fact that they refuse to believe me that I can't take some jobs because they won't deliver to my address (a little bit too far away), and I'm getting a bit miffed.

A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work

If it's the gyms, I spoke to Phil the other day and he says they're getting the debrief this week coming, so I guess they get paid after that, and we get paid after them, what with cashflow and them not being a huge firm.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?
